Patriots Pro Bowlers Announced

Sherman possibly but Revis hasn't played at an All Pro level. All of his INTs are a right place, right time kind of things too.

Agreed, but as we've seen just about every year, people are chosen based on reputation alone. That, combined with the fact that he has produced 7 turnovers (albeit opportunistic in the same vein as Kyle Arrington) which matches his career high, would likely point to him getting the nod over someone like say, Malcolm Butler.

Richard Sherman is a freaking no-brainer, hands down. No one's leaving him off the list.

Of course you can.

Accomplishment = (Accomplishment/game) * Games

So to the extent that Pro Bowl selections honor accomplishment, it's one of the relevant factors.

I remember Mankin held up for 7 games and still got selected.

Real happy for the defensive guys, but like everyone stated Hightower got robbed.

With that, the Pro Bowl is cool, but i put more merit on the All Pro list. I'm hoping/expecting to see 2 out of the 3 of Collins/Hightower/Butler on that list.

While McCourty and Hightower would have been great, difficult to disagree with the selections as it is a great cross section of our team.. there are only so many slots.

Happy for Malcolm but I don't think he is an AllPro. One more year...

Collins and High no question.

Felger is no idiot -- which makes the stupid things he says even less excusable than they'd otherwise be. He knows what he's doing wrong.
Mazz on the other hand....I'm not so sure he isn't that dumb.

I think Malcom Butler has to be one of the stories of 2015. Think about it, at this time last year only us fans knew about Butler. Then he makes the greatest defensive play in the history of the Super Bowl (and several other good plays in the SB), and he becomes a household name.

What I love about him is he stated he didn't want that play to define him as a player. He said he wanted to be known as a good corner. And all he's done is go out and not only play at a Pro Bowl level, he is an actual verified Pro Bowler. Simply amazing story, maybe the story of 2015.

Have to hand it to Belichick too, the man had the foresight to realize that Butler (and Ryan) would be good enough for the team to withstand the losses of Revis and Browner. Having a good front 7 helped Butler too, but still he has played phenomenal enough for the whole league to realize he's THAT good.

You see guys like Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis being left out?

Revis just hasn't been himself. All-Pro voters are usually better in not voting just on reputation.

As for Sherman, he had a weak first half of the season. He was abused early this year. I think it's close between him and Butler.

I remember the offseason threads.
I quote a poster here his ceiling is a decent number 2 corner.
He doesnt have size or elite speed Revis made everyone look better than they are.
Well it looks to me like the coaching staff made everyone look good by putting them in the best position to succeed.
I wont deny that Butler learning from Revis was incredibly valuable.
Lets hope Revis greed didnt rub off on him as well.
I would think since we gave him his only chance and we believed in him he will give us every oppurtunity to give us a fair hometown homegrown discount but thats a moot point because we control him for what?
3 more years is it?
The scout who had Butler on their radar deserves a huge huge promotion.

From Popeye's Chicken to the Pro Bowl in less than two years. Unbelievable.

From Popeye's Chicken to the Pro Bowl in less than two years. Unbelievable.

Popeye's was before he went to West Alabama so it was about four years from Popeye's to the Pro Bowl.

But who cares. We all know Malcolm wants to win another truck.

Only one first rounder on the list. Should have been two with Hightower.
While true. If you were going to have an all time pro bowl game, 2 of those guys would probably be selected (maybe 3).

Brady
Gronk
Gostowski?

This was the year I projected jake bequette would be a pro bowler. d%#*!@t! I hate being wrong.....

Don't worry bud. It starts next season! He'll make up for our unjust robbery of our 1st round pick.

You realize that that /wasn't/ Malcolm you were talking to? Right? So this sense of entitlement you seem to think he has is entirely from your own mind.
No, I was speaking of the sense in some fans' minds that Butler was entitled to recognition when he hadn't compiled enough accomplishments to be outstanding.

Butler himself has been exemplary in his humility. Fans saying "finally" he's recognized are ignoring the fact that his career has only just begun. They're the ones showing a sense he's entitled.

Ware and Bowman over Hightower at LB is laughable
Bowman ranks #1 in tackles with 136...
Hightower ranks #141 in tackles with 56...

They both play inside LB and Hightower has a better supporting cast, so I'm just curious what is the logic behind you thinking here?

Comparing Ware and Hightower doesn't make any sense, one is an edge rusher and on plays off the line, if you said Sheard should have made it over Ware you might have had something..
