Patriots list Brady as questionable for Sunday

Don't like the looks of this. He probably will play, but if he needs rest and pushes through it, I hope it doesn't make him worse.

Remember Brady had a bad cold at last year's Super Bowl and remarked that everyone in his family was sick. This is the time of year kids come home with colds and flu. I hope Brady is on top of things enough to avoid contracting viruses from his kids and wife during these all-important phases of the season.

Those Brazilian supermodels spread germs like nobody's business.

Perhaps I misunderstand, or a joke flew over my head, but this statement is bizarre. Are you suggesting that Brady should avoid contact with his family during the late season and playoffs? Sure, there's things you can do to minimize the chance of transmission, but the only way to be sure to "avoid" catching stuff is to avoid the infected people.

That does sound extreme... could be boring too... at the very least, he'd need...

...a bubble.

As a parent, who caught more than his share of colds or flu from his kids, I think the original poster's advice was reasonable.

The OP doesn't say "avoid his kids" but rather to "avoid contracting viruses." I remember that there were many times when my kids were young and sick in the winter and I had a big meeting or business trip coming up and I would take extra precautions around them. Extra hand washing. Trying to stay out of "cough or sneeze range."

As you acknowledge, the only sure way is to not be around them (but then you'd probably just catch it from someone at the hotel to which you theoretically moved temporarily), but that's usually impractical or impossible. So, I think the advice is reasonably stated.

As long as it is not a Collins type of illness...wait, did they say what illness it was? ..

That is a great idea. I mean a family can't really give you the love, understanding and happiness like a Lombardi can !!!!

It's very surprising to me how often these top notch athletes get the cold/flu. I'm far from in top shape and can't remember the last time I've had anything worse than a very minor cold (if you'd even call sniffles/sneezes that). I guess everyone's immune system is different though.

I assume it's a matter of exposure risks. Everything from frequent air travel to posing for selfies with strangers.

I agree. Everyones immune system is different.

For me personally, its been over a year since I had been doing extensive travel globally and living in airports/hotels for many years. I rarely got sick and all I did was wash my hands regularly, exercise, eat right (kind of) and sleep regularly.

In the time I've been home more (we have children that attend school) for the first few months I caught colds all the time however my body adapted and developed a tolerance and now I hardly ever get sick.

Brady is no different than the rest of us. He has little kids. Maybe his oldest son is in town (who he does not live with) and got something from him. Who knows.

There's a lot of stomach bug stuff going around. I'm sure he'll be out there just fine and that BB is using this opportunity to tweak the NFL with the questionable tag. Don't worry about Brady being around his kids. After a while a parent develops a certain immunity to all the stuff the kids bring home.

"Germs... who? ME?"

I'm driving from NY for the game, so that mutha***** better cowboy up.

Practicing outside in the winter is something the human body wasnt designed for , it doesnt matter how elite an athlete is, breathing all that cold air, wind, rain, is tough.

I always had a strong resistence from colds, flus, etc but when I was in college I lived in a city, worked in another and went to college in another one, it was a triangle, in order to not lose too much time in traffic I bought a motorcycle, well taking a rain riding a bike is something I wouldnt suggest too.

Yah, at first my daughter was constantly sick from her young kids and us babysitting grandparents the same but after a couple seasons we acquired enough immunity from those walking germ factories called children.

I wish I could hide posts. @oldrover that pic is nasty lol

Professional athletes get sick a lot more often than people realize. One might assume that these athletes have super immune systems just because they are physically fit. However, it's often the opposite because they are constantly in a weakened/recovering state from the wear and tear of their demanding routines.
