Report: Peyton to resume practicing this week

Osweiler's been bad enough that I could conceivably see Manning being an upgrade if he's actually healthy. I mean, I don't think he will be, because he was absolutely terrible when he played this year, but Osweiler's at least made it a conversation by playing badly the last few weeks. If he's your QB, you're basically telling your defense that they have to give up <20 points to have a good shot at winning.

I am hoping they go back to manning. His
anual playoff choke.

He has to get ready to play in Houston next year

Their Defense has no weakness so that shouldn't be a problem

There wouldn't be anything more fitting than Peyton ending his career with a playoff loss in Foxboro.
But then he would have to win a playoff game first to get to Foxboro (assuming the Pats get the bye) and that's so out of character for him.....

(ED He has 9 (NINE) one and done in the playoffs and has only won a playoff game in 5 other years. In contrast, Brady has two one and dones and has won games in 10 other years)

Osweiler may not be the answer, but he has hardly been given a fair shake.

His WR's were dropping easy balls all over the place against the Raiders (that fat contract for DT is looking great, right about now) and he still had a solid outing - he is only single figure starts into his NFL career!

Manning looked done prior to this injury - not just physically done but also mentally - the playoff massacre vs the Colts last year was an absolute sh*tshow that must still live with him, so powerless was he to do anything other than lob floaters down the sideline.

If anything, this year Manning looks worse - it has gotten to the point of seriously affecting his decision making which never used to be a problem (not in the regular season anyway).

In short, bring back PM - but Oz doesn't scare me either.

Manning actually has to audition for other teams. Wow.

The dream of a full decade of one and dones lives on. If he wins a playoff game we get another Brady Manning playoff game. Excellent.

I've posted many a time how Bradys 2-2 record against Manning in elimination games is tainted by that mockery of a AFC title game in 2013. Brady and your mother at wide receiver vs the best offense of the decade. Asterisk.

Yeah, I never understood why he left a dome team for a cold weather outdoor team. He got lucky with unusually warm winters in Denver the last few years, but the climate looks like it's back to normal this year.

Dude, don't get me started on DT. He is the softest, most overrated WR in the league right now of those considered elite. I'd be interested to see what people on the Broncos board are saying about his play.

Nah (though I do hope the part about the "playoff loss in Foxboro" comes true). He'll play somewhere next season. His ego is too large to go out like this. He's going to have to prove to himself that its "really" over before he hangs 'em up, like Montana and Favre before him.

Plus, his draw at the gate for a struggling team would be too significant for some owner to pay him a lot more than he is worth at this point in his career. Sometimes we talk about each of the millions these guys get as though they were one dollar bills.

If only his kickers and offensive line would help him just a little bit.

I do think the media has moved on from him. No doubt Archie is waiting for one last solid run...though I haven't heard much from him this year

I believe Manning will return if the Oz-man drops another game after the Raiders loss. My bet is this injury reprieve was conducted with the hope the noodle-arm becomes less noodle-y after some time off.

While the 4 interception performance with 35 yards in a loss that achieved the goal of most career yards was a nice metaphor for my perception of his love for individual stats over wins, I would prefer that not be his swan song. Valiantly fighting by offering a lackluster performance in a loss in order to achieve one more one-and-done in the playoffs? Now that's the good stuff.

And not hating the guy, I do hope he calls it a career. I don't want to see this damaged version take a hit next year and end up paralyzed. The sad fact is any record he puts up will be eclipsed in the near future. The NFL is too offense centric these days for that not to be true.

If Peyton keeps playing, he's liable to thrown more career interceptions than games played! Currently he's at 251 and 265. Andrew Luck, ("the soon to be NFL's greatest quarterback ever") [Dripping Sarcasm Here!] is already there at 55 and 55. For comparison purposes, the GOAT is a nifty 149 and 222.

Great post. I agree completely.

Peyton is a big boy. He chose to play 2015 because of records, the juice that comes with being an NFL QB and $15m. He also MUST have known that his 39 year old body is very susceptible to injury and extended recovery times. He is playing - at whatever level he is under his own volition.

It is possible that his season - and career could come to a close on a frigid and windy late-January day in Foxboro, MA.
