Patriots waive CB Rashaan Melvin

What's the old saying "you never have enough capable CB's" that said Rashaan Melvin good luck with your post NFL career.

I think Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was a poor mans Honey Badger this year. I have a hard time complaing because we got Roberts, but considering they cut Kyle Arrington, he would've been a much better pick the A.J derby.

He has a totally shredded knee (ACL + dislocated patella). Who knows if he will play a single relevant down in the NFL. Can't fault them for not going there.
Ekpre-Olomu would still have been a better risk/reward pick than Derby, who will never help us,
or any other team.
Better picks would also have been OLman La'el Collins, WRs Tre McBride, Dezmin Lewis or Darren Waller, RBs Thomas Rawls, Zach Zenner or Tyler Varga or ILB Taiwan Jones.
Derby wasn't even the best TE available when he was chosen.

Stone I feel like we are having this conversation almost every year but in hindsight it is easy to point out drafting mistakes. The coaching staff saw something in him that meant he could fill a specific role and it didn't work out. It happens. I also wanted to get McBride but to be honest it doesn't look like he will be playing much as well.

Melvin back on the PS. Chris Greenwood cut.

McBride could've been signed when the Titans cut him, then resigned him the practice squad. Ive watched him this season, his main issue is getting separation.

As far as tight ends go, I know 80% of the people on this board hate even the slightest mention on him, but as long as Colt Lyerla is out there for a try out, I'm against the team taking any thing other then a high draft pick, elite prospect. Just look at all the tight end talent in the league this year, hopefully this offseason we can find a Jordan reed like player. Lyerla though, why did he have to post a stupid post about a conspiracy theory. It would've been a beauty watching McD draw up double TE sets with his abilities.

I realize that Melvin hasn't looked good, but I never mind these PS signings in terms of giving a longer look. In other words, if someone went down, we'd have to bring him up and we'd hate it, but he may be the best of the available options right now.
