Still think he sits this week. But he has to be back by next week.

If he is out of any game beyond the Texans, then we have to look at Team Gronk as being too meddlesome. If he is back by the Titans, I owe him and his dad an apology.

At the rate he's going with these braces, in five years this will be how he looks at practice:

I say sit him out 1 more week then you think he needs. whatever that is. Even when you think he is 100% or as close to as he will get... sit him out another week past that point.

We need Gronk and can not risk him re-injuring himself.

not sure i agree. he might be just testing his knee out today and if he decides he needs a couple more weeks so be it. also i wouldn't trust the patriots doctors if i were gronk.

No, we really don't. We don't know how healthy he is, we don't know how he's feeling, and we certainly don't know if he's ready to play or when he will be. We can speculate, but all we know is that he's still well within the range of time you'd expect someone with his injury to miss. Bone bruises vary widely in severity, and can be a pretty serious injury. If you want to read a bunch of negative stuff into it then that's your prerogative, but let's not pretend there's no reasonable alternative.

If he misses two more games, then it could easily be because the risk of reinjury. Bone bruises can easily turn into fractures if you aren't careful with them, and if the Pats hold him out to prevent that and make sure he's available for the playoffs, I have no problem at all getting on board with that. Gronk's played hurt before, and he'll play hurt again. I for one don't intend to get into the practice of second-guessing him and suggesting that he's not giving his all for the team.

Too meddlesome? I disagree, Gronk has the right to wait til hes confident in the leg, Knowing him, and knowing his drive he might try to rush it because he knows how much the team needs him. The last thing i want is for him to come back too early and have a severe injury as a result(see coming back from broken forearm, and rebreaking it the first game.

Do you think Gronk's family (dad Gordy) is a better arbiter of his fitness for action? That seems to be the bone of contention when it comes to Gronk's injuries -- Gordy vs. the Patriots. The Patriots are paying Gronk a premium contract, you'd think they value their investment enough to protect his health.

Hopefully, this will put to rest talk of undue family interference.

Is that why he was allowed to return to action just to break his arm again?

It's good that he's practicing. But he needs to be sure that knee is 100% before he comes back. He's way too important to a Super Bowl run to come back too quickly.

Well, we know Papa Gronk is too meddlesome based on the joint press release from the Pats and the Gronkowski family. When have the Pats ever put out a press release about an injury who isn't going to IR much less a joint press release with his family.

The question is whether he will pressure Gronk to put himself above the team to be 100% before he plays.

You're suggesting the Patriots knowingly put him at unnecessary risk. Might as well blame Gordy too while you're at it.
