Dude did run a 4.2 40.

Wouldn't be the first back that Pittsburgh basically gave up on that rose to prominence here

I am sure that we will bring back Cadet or just roll with White/Bolden behind Blount, but I would not be opposed to Archer as a spot back for screens/etc.

Doesn't the position require a fair amount of playbook knowledge? I assume he's PS elgibile at least?

Dri Archer cannot Block all our Previous Third Backs Excell is that area no thanks.

Blocking is more want to than technique
Maybe him being cut has humbled him enough to put his nose to the grindstone.
Id at least give him a tryout if not him than how about the Niner back.
Is he still on their practice squad or is he active with Bush out?

I would say sign him and try certain packages with him even if he cant block well.
Let him compete with James White sign him to a 2 year deal with the second year having the right to match anything he would get on the open market.
That way he gets to show his talent in a dynamic offense.
Gets a chance at a superbowl and gets financial flexibility and the Patriots get the second year option they love having.

I think Archer is finding out that it takes more than straight line speed to make it in the NFL.

I'm sure they are thinking about him. How hard not sure.

The problem with losing Lewis is that the dude ran hard and didn't go down easy.

With White and as I understand with Archer, those guys go down with a gust of wind.
