My dearest Abigaile,
I would be lying if i said this battle was one that has not been on my mind for some time. Ever since I took over general Peyton's post expectations have been high and I can not ignore the whispers I have failed to live up to him. I find that odd as my battle record is not much different from his particularly in battles taking place in the dead of winter when they matter most.
Major Hilton has been an great aid to me and will be even more so facing this fearsome front line when we move to engage. Even though we will be battling in good weather today I do think it is best to keep my beard as it serves as a moral booster for me as well as a place to keep my new pet bird. His name is Peety and his singing at night brings me joy when I can not be with you. There only down side of this is he has eaten the snacks have I put in by beard for later use. I tell him he is a bad Peety when he does this but he has a stubborn side. I wish we will be re-united in not long and be a proper family soon. My Abigaile, myself and little Peety
Sincerely Yours,
General Andrew Luck
