edit.... oops, already an article and thread on this.... merge city.
I am thinking that if anything Maneri would be the more likely roster candidate; he's familiar with New England's system, plus if need be he can fill in at tackle, where the Patriots are mighty thin with zero depth at the position currently.
Patriots Work Out Two Veteran Tight Ends: Steve Maneri and Bear Pascoe
Maneri has played tight end and offensive line in the NFL after going undrafted out of Temple in 2010. He spent part of the 2010 season on the Patriots’ practice squad and active roster. He also was with the Patriots in training camp in 2014, then signed to their active roster in December. He was waived Jan. 17.
Maneri spent part of training camp this summer with the New York Jets. The 6-foot-7, 280-pounder has six career receptions for 52 yards. He also has spent time with the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Pascoe was selected in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the New York Giants when they beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, and he also has spent time with the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound tight end has 40 career catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns.
Both players are known for their blocking prowess.
