How many times did your mother tell you growing up, “cheaters never prosper”? Apparently and thankfully none of our mothers ever knew Bill Belichick, Tom Brady or Bob Kraft.

The Asterisk Project is a national grassroots campaign with a goal having ten million people sign a petition urging the NFL and Commissioner Goodell to place an asterisk in the record book next to all the Patriot victories, accomplishments and records achieved during the Brady/Bellichick/Kraft era noting they happened in an era when the team was known to have cheated on multiple occasions in different ways.
Out of Indianapolis. Bring the hate.

I can't believe that they have actually gotten 9 people to donate money. I guess there is a sucker born every minute.
That is just the average. The rate in Indianapolis is evidently much higher, bringing up the low rate in New England.

So... you are looking for 10 million dumbasses who are blissfully unaware of the truth. Unaware that, no, 11 of 12 footballs were NOT underpressurized by 2 psi. Mortensen lied. Unaware that all of the Patriots footballs were depressurized to the extent demanded by the ideal gas law and a 25-degree temperature drop. Unaware that in an afternoon they can perfectly replicate what happened by 1) pumping a football to 13 psi; 2) putting it in a fridge for 2 hours; 3) measuring the psi and finding that for every 20 degree drop the ball loses 1 psi of pressure, like the Patriots footballs did; and 4) then leaving the ball in the warm room for 10 minutes and seeing that the pressure trends back upward, but is still down over 0.5 psi, like the Colts footballs were. Good luck finding that many dumbasses. Indiana is not so densely populated.

Someone actually dropped $1500 on this cause. Who's this going to? A bribe to the NFL's record keepers?

Is Gary Coleman (AKA Marshall Faulk) the mastermind?

The person who started this is just going to make a decent amount of money and not do anything. He has already gotten two grand.

It's actually not a bad idea if you're hard up for cash. Start a GoFundMe and make it something to do with raising awareness and money for the Pats to be punished for cheating and cash in.

That was my fear.

Can we ask them to asterisk the pay-me SB for artificial sound in the stadium and tuning up the heat indoors in the playoffs leading up to SB win?

So the Cassel era, short lived as it was, is not on the radar?

Noone donated 1,500 dollars. The money isn't collected unless the goal is reached which obviously is not happening. I could 'donate' 4.9 million right this second, it doesn't mean I actually gave them money.

On the surface, this is kind of funny, but the stupidity and level of delusion behind it is staggering.

You have an average football fan who is so upset about one team breaking a rule* that he wants to raise $10 million to force the football league to place asterisks next to all that team's accomplishments. Think about that for a minute. How disconnected from reality is that line of thinking?

I'm not even sure how or why this guy thinks that raising that money will even achieve that goal. Is he planning on bribing the NFL with $10 million? Isn't he aware of Goodell's legendary integrity? It's like the internet meme:

Step 1: Raise $10 million
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Asterisks

What happens next if this gains any traction? Will other fans start fundraising efforts to benefit their teams? Maybe Raiders fans will raise $20 million to get their team added to the playoffs. Maybe Bill or Vikings fans will raise $50 million to see their team finally win a Super Bowl.

I thought the Jets fan suing over spygate or the Vikings and Steelers fans writing anti-Patriots propaganda books were the most ridiculous things I've heard, but this blows them away. The guy behind this, Jim Purucker, deserves every bit of ridicule coming his way.

*(pun intended by using an asterisk) Just pretending that a rule was actually broken for this example. Anyone who actually has an open mind, a modicum of intelligence and is interested in facts realizes this was a witch hunt based off a false rumor by a jealous rival, but that's a different rant.

I looked at the FAQ and they say you don't need to reach your goal to get the money. It doesn't look to be like Kickstarter where you need to reach your goal.
