I think he's trying to find a guy who can penetrate, but still take on a double team. Both the new guys roughly fit that. Maybe doesn't want to carry "run only" players, or at least play 2 at a time

Remember, we're only three games into this new quicker attacking front line approach. Last year it was still Wilfork with no Easley

Just doing some more reading on him and Mike Mayock loved him.

Its fascinating how he was a complete bust at GB- which is a solid organization gets jettisoned, comes here and works his way to the 53. We'll see what he has

Yea. I'm sure they queried Jamie for his thoughts on him.

He is a real head scratcher. Greenbay letting him go so early gives me pause. His college highlights are a delight though. I hope he is in the 53 to stay for good and give us one or two plays from his highlight reels.

BB is flooding the roster with DTs in an attempt to improve over what he has, which has been pretty bad against the run.

Not sure how you can say it's been bad against the run when they've been trotting out the Nickel and been using guys like Grissom and Jones on the INSIDE in the Nickel. It's not like they're trotting out Branch and Siliga on the 1st two downs every time and they are getting run over..

I agree with your general point. Branch and Siliga have looked good against the run. Perhaps Brown is not yet ready to be the 3rd in the fattie rotation.

Grissom and Johnson have been playing inside in the dime. Hicks has to be an upgrade.

So, sure we can use improvement in the run defense, the 3rd running DT. We also could use improvement on DT's for nickel and dime coverage. However, this in no way makes in essential to have 12 defensive linemen!
