Final round of roster cuts for Patriots

I thought I heard La Fell dressed and practiced today. So Wayne's insurance policy was no longer needed. Plus Miquel says they have to find $800K to get under the CAP.
That's what I'm saying! I heard the same thing, which is why I started my thread. Is it possible to remove someone and then add them back to the list? I'm not quite sure how that aspect of the game truly works.

People on PUP and IR get paid. Unless their is something special in their contracts for such exigencies. Without Gray and Wayne's contracts the difference between what they would have made and their replacements comes off the CAP.

Depending on their status players on IR and PUP are paid at a reduced rate.

I wish there is also a media member cutdown.

"Volin, Tanguay, Felger, i'm sorry, you competed but ultimately, we're gonna go with real reporters. And you fat b@stard, we're trading you to the moon."

Can't go back on PUP once you've practiced.

Why are you telling me things that I already know? You are the one who has misquoted Miguel today, not me.

While I do see your point, I still maintain mine. LaFell is a starter and he is on ST's. Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi played ST's. While I'm not directly putting Gray in the category of two NE greats, it does still go against your notion that starters don't need to play ST's. Overall, I see what you mean about Gray. I just do not buy entirely that it was related solely, or even mostly, because he offers nothing on STs.

Your logic is faulty. I say,
  • Starters don't need to play special teams.
  • Backups do.
That is logically equivalent to saying:
  • Players that don't play special teams are starters.
It is not logically equivalent to saying saying:
  • Starters don't play special teams, or
  • Special teams players are not starters.
I did over-generalize and counter-examples exist (among linemen, e.g.), but your examples are not counter-examples.

Just saying...

I think the Pats will try and trade Wilson, imho.. I mentioned the Bears as a possibility..

I'd rather keep him, unless he could fetch way more than i think.

No. You didn't hear the same thing. LaFell did not practice..

I still think that rumor is BS. Going to take like half the season to learn the playbook unless the guy is Einstein. The great thing about making up Patriots rumors is that nobody cares enough to deny them. It's just too easy.
I hate what Madden and fantasy football have done to fan mentality. Everyone under the age of 25 thinks WR is the most important position in football.

Id guess Martin. Not sure there's a need for 6 edge rushers.

The Pats have 6 edge rushers without Martin: Ninkovich, Jones, Sheard, Flowers, Johnson, Grissom..

Yeah true. Fantasy football annoys me because we have people rooting against their own real life team...but yeah as far as wide outs go I'd be cool if BB gave up drafting them and just stuck with signing vets. Too much risk trading high value capital or drafting them high in the draft. Edelman is the only one we've drafted since Branch and Givens 13 years ago that worked out lol.

Only if they signed a split contract, which is only a standard clause for undrafted rookies. The vast majority of players on a reserve list are paid in full.

Not to mention NFL Headquarters, Kensil ,Giardi, Pash, Goodell.....

Clearly it was a false report. Who knows. Maybe he was in proximity to the other players and the reporting journalist got confused.

I bet the put him though a workout, it went ok but and at the end of it felt that they wanted to make 100% that whatever ails him how will not be a problem during the stretch run.

I can dig the post. Still, I stand by my original statement because I do not believe that his ST's value, or lack thereof, is ultimately why he was cut. I actually think that we're in agreement more than either of us thinks, and we're coming at it from opposite angles. Read my original post again and see if you can tell. I do respect very much what you're saying.
