Bucs trade Tim Wright to the Lions

@RapSheet: The #Bucs are trading Tim Wright to the #Lions, source said. Detroit gets a pass-catching TE.

Thanks Bill. We could've gotten a conditional 2019 7th, but instead, you cut him. #FiretheGM

Eh, Goodell would just steal that pick away too when he decides that Belichick is generally aware that Patriots players poke and grab underneath loose football piles.

Eric Ebron looking like a bust or have they finally realized Pettigrew is complete **** now even as a #2 or #3 TE.

PFT seems to think this will mean that Fauria's nephew will be cut. Maybe an upgrade over Hooman

So the Bucs trade away Wright for the second time in a year.

In a pass heavy offense without the particularities and details of the Pats offense, he may get 500 yards and a few TD's again. He is useful, he isn't a BB type of player though, can't block, that's a NO in BB's book.

He doesn't have the skills of a TE or a WR, which makes it difficult to stick in the NFL. If nothing else, he was a vital part of the Brady Resurrection Game vs the Bengals last season. That alone makes his career a success (to me anyway, probably not to him)

Didn't he get 2 TD against he Lions last year when the defense was concentrating on Gronk and the other receivers and he slipped into the end zone unnoticed

Wright's production per play seemed off the charts to me. Like he played 10% of the snaps, but still caught 20+ passes with 6 TD's.

Kinda like Jonas Gray. Was Wright late to practice one time? LOL

Bucs get a kicker in return. I think the Pats are okay missing out on that trade.

I agree, I would also trade Hoohah for Fauria. We need pass-catchers like him and Mundine, not blockers-only like Cleveland.

Fauria would be a good fit here IMO. He's a monster in the red zone it seems... 3 TE set anybody?

Would love Fauria. Another guy Brady can lob the ball up to in the endzone.

Something off about Wright...seems like he should have the tools to succeed.

Agreed. Injury, attitude, work ethic.....who knows but this guy clearly showed decent enough skill on the field to at least catch on as a backup. Yet he's now getting tossed around like he is on the verge of an end to his NFL days. Something isn't (w)right.....

There are some very concerning rumors circulating around the Lions right now that might be related to this. I don't have anything to link to but there's whispers of major discontent within the locker room due to a player coming out as gay, so much so that the Lions might cut ties with the player. The name I saw was Eric Ebron.

So they're going to give the prejudiced guys in the locker room what they want? I have a hard time believing this...even with Sam, everyone was explicit that if he was cut, it's because he can't play.

Holy Crap!!! That is awesome!!!

Does anyone know'f anyone ~ anyone at all ~ who's been traded by the same Team in consecutive Years???

I don't know if anyone's ever been traded by the same Team twice, never mind in consecutive Years!!!

Does anyone know??? The League's almost a Century old!! This is seriously cool!!!

Yes, iirc wright had quite the stretcher season. I remember him being great in the bengals, bears, and lions games.

But the degree of difficulty on his plays seemed to be very low. He was usually wide open

The Portland Trail Blazers have traded Steve Blake 3 times lol. Maybe he should stop signing there.
