@AdamSchefter: Colts gave WR T.Y. Hilton a five-year, $65 million deal, per source.

Edelman: 4 years 19 million
Hilton: 5 years 65 million

Keep complaining about deflated balls
Nice post. When I saw the title, the first thing I thought is that, for even money, I'd rather have Edelman.

Teams paying this kind of money for WRs are betting that the salary cap will be increasing significantly in the near term. They just might be right.

On the other hand, if you can't stop the run, it likely won't make any difference.

The big question as always is the guaranteed $.

or if you can't stop the run, better be able to strike quick.

It's funny, it's the Peyton Manning years all over again... Load up on WRs and spend all your cap $ on offense, just ignore the defense. Then pray your talented QB can utilize the weapons to get way out in front of the other team by halftime.

Rough Numbers:

Scott Chandler - 2.6 mil per year
Brandon Lafell - 3 mil per year
D. Amendola - 4.2 mil per year
J. Edelman - 4.2 mil per year
------------------------------------------
Total 14 mil per year

T.Y Hilton 13 mil per year.

What the hell.

Can you believe, that Edelman could've been signed by any other team, for cheap. The Pats didn't even seem like they want to sign him.

It's unbelievable. And he has turned himself into one of the best receivers in the league.

I know JE11 is already signed and everything, but shouldn't a 100+ reception 1,000+ yard, superbowl-winning-catching, ultra-reliable, Brady's-guy, play-anywhere, best-punt-returner-almost-ever, ultra-competitive, touch-down-throwing, chip-in-at-DB, team-guy player be paid a bit more?

Yeah probably. He's a steal. As for Hilton? Nice payday. Who do we have that's going to stick him one on one now that Arrington is gone?
