Well this needs to end so that the team can go and play football!

read the thread...i never said the patriots taped practices. ugghh

I've read the thread, thank you very much. I've seen how you've tried to spin doctor your way to some pathetic excuse. It's been laughable at best.

ok dabruinz...you dont know what you are talking about

And yes, I DO know what I'm talking about. I haven't been the only one to point out your failure of the English language..

The Patriots were fined $1M and docked A draft pick for not following the letter that Goodell sent out regarding taping from the sidelines. That is not cheating. Saying so it BS on your part and a bold faced lie.. Especially since the league stated that the Patriots didn't cheat..

dont call me a liar...you dont want to call it cheating, fine..i dont think it was either. however, NFL considered it cheating, otherwise they wouldnt have been fined. and unfortunately thats the reality we live in...do you disagree with that? i think the taping stuff was crap and we shouldnt have been fined...

this whole conversation is a conversation about whether ESPN defamed the patriots...so if you actually read anything other than the snippets you are quoting you would know that.

in the sense of defamation, any lawyer can make a logical argument that her statement was 2 parts. and the 2nd part was independent of the first and she did not say the patriots cheated by taping practices (more specifically the rams before super bowl), but they cheated by video taping a game..based on my first paragraph, its essentially a fact that patriots cheated (AGAIN I DISAGREE). but the nfl rules govern here and they consider it cheating.

so no, there is no defamation case. thats all this is about.

Sorry, but the shoe fits.. The NFL didn't consider it cheating. They said as much. What they said was that the Patriots didn't follow the rule regarding where to tape from. Broken rule does not = cheating. Just like speeding does not = criminal.

What you claim is irrelevant. You're a nobody spinning your garbage on a message board. I read the whole thing, so maybe you should shut up with your stupid claims. Anyone with a simple grasp of the English language knows that Storm DID say that the Patriots cheated by taping practices. No. The second part was not independent of the first. You only claim it was because it fits your ridiculous narrative.

Do yourself a favor. Stop while your behind because you've done nothing to convince anyone that you know what you're taking about.

So the nfl didnt consider it cheating but they fined the patriots 1M dollars (or whatever that number is) and fined them a 1st round pick....ok

im a nobody spinning my garbage? ok

im giving my thoughts on whether its defamation and your telling me about the english language because you dont agree.

keep name calling on message boards and telling other people they are nobodies and to "stfu"... youre the winner here for sure! i give in, you own me

There are indeed two parts to her rant

Part 1: The Patriots history includes the taping of other teams practices
Part 2: Some people consider that to be cheating

Part 1 is blatantly false and she knows it. The "some people" qualification in part 2 has NOTHING to do with part 1.

Is this really that hard?

They said that they broke the rule regarding the location of the camera. It's no different than going 5 miles over the speed limit doesn't make you a criminal. Clearly the nuances are lost on you.

I'm telling you about the English language because you're insisting Storm said one thing when she said something else. And you attempted to use it as your explanation as to why it wasn't defamation. Sorry that using it as proof that it was hurts your argument.

I didn't call you any names . Nice lie on your part. Keep it up. Show everyone what a quality poster you are.

Hannah you [Mod edit]...

In one of AL Franken's books he exposed the "Some would say..." supposed qualifier as a common Fox News tactic that roughly translates to "Nobody's saying it but we want to interject our agenda into the issue..."

Tweeted her to try to get her to set the record straight. Doubt she cares. More people should send her some tweets and give it a shot tho.
I tweeted her as well. I think that's the first time I ever tweeted someone.

You'd be a somebody here if you weren't being purposely moronic about this. We can't know, of course, why you are motivated to be this way, but it smells like the Boston area media hacks who have intentionally and knowingly given up on legitimate journalism and instead say and post dramatic and inflammatory stuff just to get clicks and thus make a living. That's how you are becoming a nobody here.

I'm not going to argue the nuances and facts with you, as others are, because doing so gives you your victory.

Hannah was born in Oak Park Illinois but grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of **** Storen, who was president of the Indiana Pacers. She attended school at Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, before beginning her career in Texas.

Hmmmm....

This is the position of ESPN, not just Hannah Storm.

Not even NFL Network says this.

How to figure that she "knows" that Part 1 is false?? 9/10 people that follow the NFL heard the report about the taped walkthrough and never heard the very lightly reported retraction. I have little doubt Hannah Storm is within that 90%.

but the patriots did tape. that is a fact

There is literally zero evidence that they filmed any Super Bowl practices... That whole thing was because Tomase came out with that false story right before the SB to get his name out there and the Herald had to retract the story and issue an apology for it.

The people who keep repeating it and using it as if it really happened should be sued heavily for continuing to perpetuate a complete falsehood.

Hannah you [Mod edit]...

Really? I can't paraphrase something that was a network TV catchphrase in the 1970's and has been quoted about a million times since then? And Donald Trump says we're getting too PC. ..boy is he out of touch!

An "esteemed journalist" (snort chortle) of Hannah's caliber should know that her statements are hip-deep in innuendo and are considered hearsay in a court of law.

Lost all respect for her with this scurrilous balderdash.

Why does every MB have to have a Captain Peevish? Your nonsense has been exposed, contradicted, and beaten down like the rabid dog that it is. Yet you still maintain your vapid point of view. Are you sure you're not a shill working for Der Kommissar, the High Omissioner Goodell*?

Ms. Storm and ESPN should issue a public correction and apologize to the Patriots.

I'd strongly advise against waiting underwater for this to happen.
This IS what should happen. Doesn't ESPN have an ombudsman who could be reached in order to correct this error.
