I know we're all familiar with Collinsworth godawful color commentary on one of the last drives of Super Bowl 49 where he had to bring up deflate gate as Brady was busy making history. But from a new interview today it looks like he might not be as anti-Brady as we had thought.

Not only did he leave open the option that maybe there was no deflation in the first place but I also like that he acknowledges that if he were in Brady's position, and knew he was innocent, he would fight any punishment with every dollar he had. A stark contrast to all the idiots saying "oh Brady should just be a man and accept the punishment so he can move past this" like that is actually a valid option.

This is less about Brady's defense, and more about Collinsworth's need to say something, anything to get some attention during the offseason..

Many of these talking heads weren't so sick of the story that they couldn't talk endlessly about the false psi reports, the bathroom breaks, integrity of the game, the first few pages of Wells report, and the deflator text. They are all, however, too sick of the story to read the entire Wells report, the entire Patriots rebuttal, AEI's report, and the many scientists who have shredded Exponent's logic. They are all too sick of the story to learn at worst, although highly unlikely, only 3 to 4 tenths of a psi was taken out of the balls and to rationally think out if that makes any sense at all. Go figure.

Translation: there's nothing else the media can make up. So let's bury this and speculate on something new.

In the link you gave, I see ZERO defense of Brady. All he says is he doesn't know, but if Brady did it, that's breaking the rules. Here's the entire quote from the link you provided. It does not say what you are interpreting:

"Probably like everybody else who’s a football fan, I’m a little sick of it to be honest with you," Collinsworth told CSNNE.com "I don’t know what happened, I don’t think anybody knows what happened. I don’t know if there's any linkage back to Tom Brady, or any linkage back to the organization. I don’t even know if they deflated any air out of the balls and I hope they didn’t. If they did, it's the most unnecessary thing that happened in the history of football. If there is that linkage…that’s unfair. That’s breaking the rules."

I don't see some of the things you are saying he said in that link. I agree with others nothing to talk about other than deflategate.

I didn't like CC when he was a player. When he was with NBC. Then FOX, HBO and now SNF.

He was scooled by Bob Trumpy so that tells you that deep-down he is anti-Patriots

I usually love Collinsworth but he's been annoying about deflagegate. You really think they may deflated .4 psi out of the balls? Did anybody read the report?

IF Chris Collinsworth had shown in his public life that he was capable of a semi-intelligent thought or had shown proof that he was not illiterate, I might care what he has to say.

I wouldn't go that far. I'm not big on Collinsworth after that abomination of commentary during XLIX but before that I came to appreciate him as, IMO, the best color commentator in the NFL. You can get some pretty awful commentators like Dierdorf so I thought Collinsworth is fairly insightful.

Screw Collinsworth and the rest of the media twits like him. just wait until Brady gets his day in court and is completely vindicated and these same idiots will act like they were saying this the whole time. Will any of them dare to go after Roger and his clown posse for making a mountain out of a mole hill only to go after Brady. I highly doubt it.

I'd bet the farm that 90% of the people with an opinion on it have not read TWR and reasoned out how contrived, orchestrated and bordering on ficticious it is.

And, I'd bet my farm (if I had one) that Goodell and Vincent are among that 90%!!!
Oh they know, they don't care. It was never about the science.

Man if Kraft had some balls he should have told that reporter who asked him about deflate gate after winning the SB to "suck a ****," on live TV.

The problem is that the Wells report has been successful in producing the narrative that something happened..even when it seems like nothing happened if you read it with some skepticism. This is a huge issue - and one that will be hard to get rid of..

So guys like CC will have this kind of opinion.
