Oh noez.

Seriously though, what is happening? The guy couldn't even make it to training camp? Is our secondary that talented?

Edit: Created this merely to escape all the deflate bullcrap.

The rooks must be impressive, notice how Swanson is still on the roster kid will compete for a spot.

Checkwa was another terrible Raiders player taken based on 40 time. Not a good cover corner. Not sure why so many people are down on the other corners the Patriots have, but were hopeful this guy would stand out. He never could in Oakland. As terrible as Fletcher was last season, he still has more talent and potential than Checkwa (I know that wont mean much, but still).

If I had to guess 5 we keep, I've got; Butler, Ryan, Fletcher, Roberts and McClain. I'm holding out hope for a trade to replace McClain.

My completely uneducated guess: The Pats signed him to compete on special teams (barring an unforeseen breakout), and he showed up to camp without the right attitude to play ST. At that point, Bill's not gonna waste his time. I highly doubt he was ever in serious contention for a lot of defensive snaps.

Maybe Swanson breaks out this year? He had a couple of flashes last TC and he persevered in the Practice Squad

Chekwa wasn't going to do anything on this team anyway. The team has to make a move in the secondary. At this point, their best hope for stopping offenses through the air goes like this:

1. Rush the passer.

2. Hope opposing WR's get gassed.

That was the best named player the Pats had in years.

"Chim-chimmity, chim-chimmity, Chimdi Chekwa...

They wined you and signed you and thought you'd go far...

Chim-chimmity, chim-chimmity, Chimdi Chek-wayne...

Turns out you didn't even outlast McClain."

He was our last hope ...

Huh, interesting. His name was cool but I don't think it's any big loss, he was a bottom end depth guy at this point... I'm interested in who they may sign to fill his roster spot also. Fletcher? Spikes?

They could have locked up Revis...
Sure, and then had no chance to keep Jones, Hightower, Soldier etc...

Anyone who continues whining about Mevis obviously dosent really understand how a football team works.

Plus its probable he did not want to come back so saying they "could of" is ridiculous at this point. Perhaps being behind Brady and Gronk in popularity was too much for his ego.

Bottom line, NY gave him 39 million and $70 total. That is insane for someone his age. And again even if Revis might have stayed that means NE would have had to overbid that and who know how much the Jets would have continues to add to that contract to keep him of just drive up the price for the Pats.

So stop talking ****.

It was Spikes!
