We may not have gotten better TODAY for 2007, wegot better for 2007 almost 2 months ago through FA. I have toa dmit I was bummed initially with all of the trades but seriously how many of these rookies would have played a significant amount this year. Meriweather can move to FS right away which would allow Wilson the chance to go back to CB, which is the position we drafted him for. 5 picks on Day 1 for next year which is suppoesed to be a much stronger draft. I read somewhere online that this is, according to football media types, the weakest draft in the last 5 years. Good for the Patriots. Also without having too many rooks from Day 1 our salary cap that we have to set aside for signing them is much less which allows us more flexibility to sign Asante and perhaps a vet presence at ILB - Hartwell?

The Browns & Raidas, had a nice day with their rookie QBs, but no one's scared of rookie QBs. So it's almost 10:30, and who got better today that you say "wow, they got better, I don't want to play them in 2007"?

I say 3 teams - Jets (top CB, good LB), Carolina (Beason, Jarrett, Kalil !!!) and yes, SF (Willis, Staley at LT, and Hill at Wr(4.32 40). They all got better today for 2007. The Pats didn't.

The Pats didn't get better today for 2007?

Really?

The PATS got better in FA where the players can make a immediate impact... I think we will be fine... I'm disappointed we traded the 28th pick BUT I think we are in a better position than the other teams... I expect ALL the haters right now to confess how sorry they are for doubting come Feb...

That's right. Merriweather won't start. He'll play ST. other teams improved a lot more than we did.

If you don't think Meriweather won't be in the mix at safety then I don't know what to say.

What round did we get Asante in? Who did we get in f/a. Is the draft over? Let me guess you are like 20 right.

Noone is saying that about the 49ers. Noone. And neither of those players the Jets took are going to make an enormous difference in 2007. 2008, 2009, yes, possibly. Really, how many rookie cornerbacks are the difference? Look back at 2005: three cornerbacks taken in the top ten: they had three interceptions in the first year combined, despite playing quite a bit. Now one is out of football for a year, and the others...well they aren't Ty Law or Champ Bailey yet.

I'm not saying that Revis won't be good, or even great--but he is just as much a pick for the future as our 2008 pick from the niners will be.

I don't get all this crying over the draft....when you consider the quality/quantity of players we signed in FA and the few losses we had.....what does drafting a alot of mediocre players get us other than ST fodder.

Mabe BB likes Alexander more than Harris or Pol.....Pats made a move into next year and filled holes mostly in FA this year as opposed to the draft....(oh we still have 9 picks left).

What round did we get Asante in? Who did we get in f/a. Is the draft over? Let me guess you are like 20 right. Meriweather is a top 15 talent...............

I'm talking about Day 1. Asante didn't start as a rookie. Either did Hobbs. Even Milloy waited until the end of the yr before he got a start. You think Merriweather will beat out Harrison? NOT! What about Wilson or Artrell?

Yeah, he's on the depth chart. Deep on the depth chart.

Your own argument applies to why the pats did not take a guy like Harris with the second first rounder. How much did you watch meriweather play. He is a top talent. Who should we have taken at 24, Olsen right.

He's actually second on the depth chart at FS. Real deep.
