So you would rather that they lose? You've been brainwashed by the widespread national hate. History is written by the winners. The losers get to complain afterwards but a Lombardi is forever.

If they lose, the mediots will just crow something smug like, "I told you so, cheaters never prosper!"

If they win, they'll have a trophy and the media will make up some clever headline trying to detract from winning the Superbowl, but that will be one more championship for our guys. They worked their butts off for it and the damn air pressure had nothing to do with how our Pats kicked the Colts butts all over the field to earn the right for this chance to become Champions.

I dont know. Winning is going to really bring out the idiots too. Like I keep saying here, they really cant win. People hate us and we have not won a championship in 10 years. Imagine everyone after this and they win another.

Yikes

This is the price of Spygate and a coach that is hated by many, many people. Sucks...but it is what it is. I really hope going forward BB makes a point to call out other teams for some of the crap they are no doubt pulling off.

One thing has become perfectly clear as this nonsense unfolds: the reason Bill Belichick and the Patriots have dominated the NFL all this time is because the NFL is full of blithering idiots. Only people dumber are the media cretins who cover them.

Where did I say that Are you kidding? I hope they kill the Hawks. But anyone who thinks that winning will shut everyone up is really not thinking this though. We win this and the **** is going to continue. Its not just going to vanish. In some ways it will be worse as most of this is fueled by jealously.

That was covered in the interview with the press. He's never talked to an equipment manager about air pressure or ever cared about the topic until now.

The equipment manager handles and prepares the footballs then presents them to the QB who picks the ones that he likes. Then the balls are presented to the officials before the game where they are presumedly measured and fussed over and before being approved for use in the actual game.

Another thing to think ...Could BB/Brady have intentionally put only 12.5 psi knowing it will drop with weather and help them even if infinitesimally ? Wouldnt that be smart?

Sad thing for all of them is, the Patriots aren't going anywhere.

They're going to be in the exact same position next year: in the playoffs, fighting for a chance at another Super Bowl.

Good luck stopping them.

We have reached Full ******.
  • We can't believe anything in the press, where most of the reports contradict each other anyway.
  • We have to wait an indeterminate amount of time for a biased investigative report.
  • The Patriots are being tried in the court of public opinion, witch-hunter style.
  • The reported crime wouldn't even have benefited the Patriots
This whole thing makes about as much sense as this:

The NFL is a business. They should man up and let everyone know that BS reporting and witch hunts against franchises is not going to be tolerated.

Isn't falsely reporting something or twisting words "cheating"?

I'm pretty much convinced at this point that if "deflate-gate" hadn't happened something else equally stupid such as cleat-gate would have happened. "Look the Pats cleats are 1/4 inch longer than regulation! OMG here they go cheating again, quick, gather the neighbors and pitchforks, we got some witches, err cheaters to burn to the stake tonight!!!"

Yep, now we know what it was like to be Yankees fan all those years.

Not quite. Remember what is reported to have happened -- at halftime NE's primary balls were confiscated and the backup balls brought in (after they were tested again at halftime).

So I take what King wrote to mean that the balls in play at the final gun were tested and were all up to spec. In other words:
  • Colts balls ok at beginning of game and at end of game.
  • NE primary balls ok at beginning of game, low at halftime (and never used after that).
  • NE backup balls ok at beginning of game, ok at halftime, ok at end of game.
So, unfortunately, that would rule out weather. Each set of NE balls were out in the cold and rain for half the game, but the primary set deflated while the secondary set did not .

Backup balls were kept in refs locker room, which is why Patriots used Colts balls at end of 1st half

The hardest thing to believe is that the NFL was on top of this like that, and yet they never kept an eye on the balls

And lastly, the laws of nature did not take Sunday off

only if anyone but the Pats would have done that it would be considered clever. Just imagine how everyone would suck Peytons **** if the Broncos would do that..

Once again a warning
Who said PSI gauges are accurate? Have they been calibrated?
There is also the unknown about how much compressing the gas in the pump itself raises the temperature. I know this is a factor filling scuba tanks.
There is also the fact that measuring PSI lowers the pressure as some air escapes, I don't know if this is minuscule or tenths of a PSI on the next measurement. Readily answered via experiment.

Bottom line is that even though I 1st posted PV=nRT here day one, math alone does not give the precise answer.
Real world measurements of real NFL footballs using readily available temperature chambers gives the closest approximation. Believe those results if done in a controlled manner over a calculation. Were I Bob Kraft I'd have a local engineering lab do all of this for me and write a report. Could be done in a day.

Given this, there's the added complication that a team's pressure gauge could be mis-calibrated vs one used by the refs. I'd bet anything that the league and the teams do not check the calibration on their pressure gauges. It's too trivial.

Now I know why people enjoy watching pro wrestling.

I'm sure this will be well received from a Colts fan, but I'm ready for this to go away.

For two reasons:

1.) So people who know nothing about football or this situation would stop having ridiculous loud opinions about it. CNN anchor opened pre Belichick presser yesterday by asking the girl reporter- why would the Colts not notice the game ball being deflated when they had the ball.... Well done CNN. Betty at the office being 'disgusted' by the cheating. hmmm Betty, name one Colts player ever, not named Luck, Wayne, or Manning.

2.) I'm pretty much over seeing constant highlights of the Colts getting pounding last week that goes along with every story being shown.

Lastly, I'm with the folks on here that suggest that the NFL puts an end to this with "No direct tampering was found" and "We are going to review and tighten the procedures and hopefully remove any future questions about PSI". If it did happen no way they'll find proof and no way they can pin it on anyone directly. Time to put this to bed.

There will still be questions, but they'll disapate as much as possible at this point.

Alot of this was funny to opposing fans at first. BB is arrogant, smug, and unlikeable AND the best coach to ever coach in the NFL, imo (puked in my mouth a little saying that) It's fun to see someone like that get scrutinized, if he's not on your side. Now it should be over. The NFL looks more pathetic and impotent with every passing moment.

Here's where you call me a troll without really reading the post.

Troll --- KIDDING

Thank you for the post. Good luck next season.

Now I know why people enjoy watching pro wrestling.
And why people dont follow pro sports. I never got that. Now I do! Considering I only follow the NFL these days it gets easier to see every year.

This should have ended day 1, Pats were found with under inflated balls , from now on officials will be in control of the balls, no competitive advantage was gained. The rules will be modified in the off season, Pats are fined 25000, or they are cleared of any wrong doings. qed. Pats vs Hawks SB. Thats how a leader who gets 40 mil takes care of things. Irsay-Harbaugh stfu and improve your teams
