2015 Draft Prospect Thread

I usually am all over the idea of taking underclassmen, but a 19 year old? He should have stayed in school, BB won't take him

Urban Meyer said he thinks Devin Smith's draft stock is already rising and will continue to rise, I agree, late Day 2 prospect in my eyes

I suspect he ends up early day two in the end. Could even see him in the late first. legitimate deep threat prospect.

He's been balling lately, great kid too from what I seen, would love him in NE

You never know, he might come with an Urban Meyer recommendation.
Like him a ton more than I ever liked Chad Jackson, I've been waiting for the Urban Meyer connection to carry over to Ohio State (wanted John Simon, Roby, Shazier, Hyde), maybe this is the year it begins

Any of you ever looked into Ohio States Joshua Perry. He is the linebacker who replaced Shizer this year. He is a 3rd year player which would make him eligible to enter this year I believe. Who knows, if OSU wins tomorrow, he might just be one of those players who enters early. Ive seen It happen before. He 6'4 255 and has great coverage skills. He has grown a lot since the begging of his OSU days. Im keeping my fingers crossed he enters.
Ill be watching him tomorrow.

Joe Goodberry is a draft twitter guy who tends to evaluate from a Bengals standpoint. Here are his conclusions on Odighizuwa:

Odighizuwa has a very good inside move. Hands are strong too. He's probably the strongest DE I've watched so far. Disruptive player.

Odighizuwa will generate pressures, play all over the DL and play the run. That's very valuable even if not an edge threat.

Gives him a Justin Tuck comparison.

Just watched a clip on draft breakdown of Terry Williams and he reminds me of Dontari Poe. After watching many of our games this year I am getting on board with Mayo about having DT's that are stout at the POA but still quick enough to generate penetration with quicks rather than just the bull rush.

I am leaning toward Goldman or Brown and then Williams later. I think that would help our pass rush greatly. Both players have pretty good swim and club moves with the ability to take on a double team.
Great catch on Williams Manx and Mayo I am on board with your desire to have Quick and stout DT's.

I like a rotation of Goldman or Brown, Wilfork, Siliga and Williams is kind of appealing. I like the thought of having 2 DT's of each type. NT/DT.

Apparently Cedric obueghi has got a torn ACL. I'm expecting his stock to plummet, you guys think its worth using a pick on him and essentially red-shirting him until next season as a possible solder or sea bass replacement?

Yes, I actually smiled a little when I read that he had tore his ACL. I feel bad for him, but it is good for us if BB wants to go that direction.

Rand Getlin says that Ogbuehi should be ready for camp.

Cardale Jones NEEDS more time, experience, snaps, games, throws, etc. to develop but I think he'll be better than Cam Newton if it all works out for him, looks like a cross between Culpepper, Big Ben, Cam, JaMarcus, cannon arm, huge frame, fast wheels, one of the most interesting QB prospects I can remember, just hope he doesn't enter and starts next fall regardless of what D1 FBS program

I know everybody is saying he could be the odd man out of OSU, but I think Meyer would be dumb to let jones walk next season. He's showing he extremely talented, granted its a small sample size of what we were able to see of him but they were 3 big games he's played in. Maybe it's just me that thinks hes far better than both Braxton miller and JT Barrett, also I believe he's the only one of the three who has a future in nfl as a qb(maybe Barrett as well but not as a 1st rounder). If he stays another year and plays at this high of a level I think he could be the first QB taken.

WOW, this could be huge. This reminds me very much of last years situation With Clemson's Brandon Thomas, who Tore his ACL in a Pre-draft workout with the Saints. He was a high first round pick before it happened, and he eventually fell till the end of the 3rd where the 49ers picked him up as a steal.

I loved Thomas last year and wanted the Pats to take him with our late 3rd round pick and slot him to take over from Mankins at LG in 2015, but he was never a "high first round pick". He was an early day 3 pick who excelled at the Senior Bowl and whose stock rose into day 2, probably close to where Joel Bitonio ended up. We discussed him fairly extensively:

It's possible that Thomas could have snuck into the late 1st round, but "high first round pick" is a bit off the mark.

Would Cardale Jones have many takers? But at the same time his value is probably as high as it will be assuming he rides the bench behind JT Barret next season, I suppose he could transfer.
