And while Bolden might prefer RB reps, he wants whatever he can get:
Also, there's a mutual admiration society:
“He’s a great player, man. I’m proud of him, but I mean, it’s not something I’m surprised by,” safety Nate Ebner said. “He’s a great player. He’s an amazing running back. He’s a great blocker on special teams and he knocks balls out on kickoffs. He’s blocking punts. He’s a great football player. I’m proud of him because it comes to fruition and everyone else gets to see it but I know it already. Like I said, kid’s a great player.”
“(Bolden’s) versatility at that position is hard to find,’ Belichick said. “He’s a smart guy. He does a lot of things without taking a lot of reps, which there’s a lot to be said for that, too. You can’t give everybody every play at that position. He does a great job of not taking all the plays, but always being prepared and knowing what to do when we call on him, which when you get into pass protection and third-down sub pickups and things like that. That’s not easy.”
And while Bolden might prefer RB reps, he wants whatever he can get:
Said Bolden: “The best way that me and the coaches can talk about it is to just let me go out and do something on special teams where I don’t want to just sit here and get cold. I kind of just have fun on special teams, and if they need me to come out there on offense, I will.”
Also, there's a mutual admiration society:
“(Slater’s) the best teacher I’ve ever had going from kindergarten until now,” Bolden said. “He’s the best teacher I’ve ever had. He doesn’t get frustrated with you. He’s not going to show you one time and then that be the end of it.”
