Draft Enigma

Since 2002, arguably the top 2 cbs drafted have been Samuel and Vasher. Some would offer up another name or two, such as D. Hall or Lito Sheppard. But you can make a good case for Samuel and Vasher. Vasher ran a 4.65. Samuel did not test well for a small cb. Yet they have outdone the litany of athletic freaks who drew combine raves.

I hear ya Pony Express. Give me a proven CB like Josh Wilson over Chris Houston any day. Its not always about ideal height/weight/speed but certain instincts and intangibles that don't show up in a combine spreadsheet.

I am sure that BB/Pioli put much more stock in position drills and college tapes than any 40 time.

As I have said before, BB's defense does not discriminate against slow CB's or CB's with tight hips.
If a guy is reasonably fast but extremely quick-twitch, football and assignment smart, good tackler and good character, and fundamentally sound with a passion for learning and playing, BB will draft you.

BB's defense is designed to put players in spots to make plays. If you can execute your assignements consistenty, you can play in this defense. The only down side is it may take 3 or 4 years to become completely copmfortable in this defense and all the calls and assignents.

But Josh is a smurf.

So is Houston. Draft them both and we can have one good CB. This way we have Ellis Hobbs, Ellis Wilson and Ellis Houston. Haven't we seen enough of the jump passes in the corner. Didn't one team do it three times in a row with a terrible QB (Harrington)?
Samuel is 5' 10" IMO we need a QB, just at least one over 6'!
Yeah I know. It's not size. A lot of good jokes can go here BUT......Please no more smurf CBs!
