I am not a fan but like Romeo. It would be nice to see them get more respect and win a few more games. Maybe they could beat the Steelers some year.
They are never on prime time TV so I don't know there players. It seems like they don't score much but the defense isn't too bad.
They could have Quinn, Peterson or Joe Thomas.
thanks

it's a matter of how comfatable they are with Quinn. A franchise Quarterback is not to be missed but he does come with some risk. He's not a sure thing, like thomas and to a lesser extent peterson

They are basically set if they get Thomas or Peterson. Those two picks seem like locks for success. I would definately take them over Quinn regardless of what Weis is smoking.

They signed Lewis for 1 year who is already older and slower - Petersen is the logical pick here in this spot and I could see him in a Maroney/Dillon split back type deal in Cleveland this year.

I had this pick in the mock and I took Quinn for the simple reason that you cannot build a winning team without a very good QB and the Browns just do not have one. Quinn might not be a sure thing, but he has more potential that Frye or Anderson and I think you just have to give it a shot if you're Cleveland.

The only other pick I had in mind was Thomas, who should be a beast for whoever selects him. I didn't consider Peterson because I felt the Browns would be able to get better value out of a running back to complement Lewis in round two or three.

For a RB or a QB to be successful, they need to have an effective offensive line. The Browns addressed part of that situation by signing eric Steinbach. They also signed Seth McKinney to challenge for a spot. But they have issues at LT, LG and Center.

Bentley may have to retire, leaving them with Fraley and McKinney fighting for a spot. Fraley didn't do a great job last year after being acquired from the Eagles. But he is a veteran presence.

Andruzzi's knees are supposedly shot and Steinbach may actually end up playing there instead of RG.

Kevin Shaffer has been less than stellar and definitely not worth the money that Savage threw at him prior to last season. In fact, rumor has it that the Browns are moving Shaffer to RT.

There is no doubt that Quinn, Russell and Peterson are talents. However so is Thomas. And when it comes to VALUE, Thomas should represent the biggest value for the Browns. Without a bonafide LT, it won't matter who is at QB or RB, the Browns won't be able to accomplish much.

Adrian Peterson. Mainly fot eh reason that I don't think Quinn should be a top five pick, and Peterson is absolutely nasty.

Sorry, I have to disagree with your assessment that you can not build a winning team without a very good QB. You can and the Ravens DID. The 2000 Ravens won it all with a mediocre QB corps of Tony Banks and Trent Dilfer. What they had going for them was a great O-line, very good running game and a fantastic defense.

DaBruinz and I differ on this . . . but so be it

I think Frye is what he is and that's not very good.

If Russell is there I am sure they'll take him. If Johnson is there I'm sure they'll trade down.

If Russell and Johnson are gone then who the hell knows. If they like Quinn they take him, you can't pass up a QB if you think he's great. If they're lukewarm on him who the hell knows. Peterson and Thomas would both be rock solid picks. As would Gains Adams to go on the other side from Wimbley.

A great guy for them if they trade down would be Carriker.

You can do it . . . but as we found out with Tommy there's nothing that will improve your offense like a great QB.

Well, can you point out a RB who has excelled but had lousy blocking in front of him? Please don't say Barry Sanders because the Lions line, at the time, was actually very good.

Didn't Walter Payton play behind some terrible lines?

The Browns have put some money into the OL, even with Bentley getting hurt there's going to come a time where they'll reasonably be expected to produce. It's not always the OL, there was little change for us from 2003 to 2004 and we went from 3.5 YPC with Smith to 4.7 YPC with Dillon.
