I'll go by the sub-forum description, as usual.

"Here is where we will archive all 2006 fan training camp reports, pictures, and more. You'll be able to find all previous threads and replies here as we follow the team's progress through camp."

And with he draft forum:

"This is the place to come and Talk about the upcoming New England Patriots 2007 Draft."

Now, would a thread about BB's DB draft history be better suited - more pertinent - in the draft forum than any forum? I'd say so. Would you rather have that thread alongside threads about Brady/Manning or alongside threads about the DBs available for the Pats to draft?

I'm not the one who put those descriptions there, folks. If you have a problem with them, talk to Ian.

Be consistent, now

Gameday Threads

Discussion of the game from 12 AM on will be prohibited on the main forum on gamedays.

Tailgate Meet Ups Patriots

There will be no discussion about going to the game. On gamedays, these discussions will be double secret prohibited.

Road Games

No discussion of road games at any time.

Posters will not be allowed to even think of starting a thread on the main page during game days with the intention of tailgating at a road game.

Exactly. The other forums certainly have a purpose, but it shouldn't be to the detrement of the main board.

Why wasn't the Saints fan mock draft moved or the story about Ricky Williams being reinstated moved. The main forum is suppose to be for the Pats.

Not anymore, apparently.

PatsNut, now that the draft forum is on the front page, why not let nature take it's course?

If poster want to use the draft forum they will.

Is the entire goal of Patsfans to get more traffic to the draft forum?

No it isn't.

That is why I'm suggesting that Patriot specific draft threads be allowed on the main forum. We are 27 days away and now the draft becomes a serious part of the Patriots future.

There will be some judgement calls left to the mods. I don't think any mod wants to "rule the board".

So when the Pats play a road game, we're not allowed to mention it?

All the moderators would have to come on board with this concept. Is it possible to get a roll call of moderators to sound off on the subject?

Topics that are clearly non football related shouldn't go on the main board, especially if inflamitory in nature. However, during slow periods of time, if the board members want to entertain themselves with a thread I don't believe it proper for you or anyone else to alter them. The way that the rule is being enforced at this time is so far over the edge that you can barely even post an OT subject to the board when it gets moved scarcely seconds or minutes later.

And that's the way the "fans" wanted it. You're in the minority.

So we can't talk about training camp either?

I think we all know what types of threads go in there. Ian last year moved all of the pictures/Mrs. B reports into that sub-forum. Not me. Not any moderator.

And as always, I take a good look at the thread and its discussion before I move it. If I (or any other moderator) thinks it would fit better with all the other draft discussion, we'll move it.

I'll tell you right now: come April 28, I will have round-by-round discussion threads as I did last year. They will be on the main forum. Once Aaron Ross or Reggie Nelson or whoever actually become Patriots, then they're fair game on the Pats board. I'm sure Ian will move the draft forum back out and bring in the other seasonal threads after the draft.

Not anymore, apparently.

I didn't move the Ricky Williams thread. I don't move any of the general NFL threads, either. There's no other forum for those. The visiting locker room is for all those garbage "Brady sucks" threads.

I really don't care. The main board is dead with at least 5 threads without a post for over 24 hours and not many interesting football threads at all.

Fortunately, I'm a member of lots of boards, so when one starts to get over moderated I try to find one that's lively.

IMO, there is no need to move any threads unless they are not Patriots related.

Nothing could be more relevant on the main board in April than draft talk.

Why not let the posters decide where they want to post?

Look at the front page.

It's dead.

IMO the draft forum is more of an area for those people who specialize in knowledge and discussion of college football and the draft. It is certainly not meaningless.

Absolutely not. The two boards can exist side by side.

Just let those who would like to have a general discussion of the draft post on the main board and those with specialized knowledge post on the draft board.

Then where's the line between "general" and "specialized?" If you have them both together, it eliminates the need to make judgment calls and get some more people mad (and I still don't understand why people are so up-in-arms about their threads being moved. If they're moved, it's because they are better suited in a different part of the forum. It's just plain organization.)

Speaking of that, I still don't understand why it's so hard to have one forum and then one sub-forum. It's not like you're traveling to a different planet when you click on "draft forum." You're simply going into a draft forum that was created by Ian by request for discussion about the draft. If there was a forum on free agency, the same would be true.

When was the vote? I missed it.

Did you express your concern to Ian when he created the sub-forums?

RE: OT Threads
Please post them in the General Talk forum. With all the new users that continue to join the forum, I'll even be the first to admit there's been an excessive number of them here recently. Some of them have certainly been interesting

I know there's not much going on, but I do think it's important to try and keep the threads here managable and easy to sift through. It also makes it easier for me to find any problem posts as we try and keep this forum moderated, and as always please click the button in the upper right if there are any posts that need immediate attention.

The draft forum isn't! That's where the action is.

Come September, the draft forum will be desolate and there will be new threads every 30 seconds on the main forum.

Why not! Talk to Ian if you have problems with the forum layout, not me.
