I think Maroney is going to EXPLODE in '07. I think he will rush for 14-1500 yrds on the ground, and another 500 in rec. yrds.

Maroney was hurt at the end of the year, playing through a painful rib injury. I seriously doubt he was intimidated.

I hear a echo... I said, maybe he was playing through a injury...

I would have gone for 1000 to 1100 yards no matter what, but you should have included options for fewer than 1000 yards.

Remember that Maroney had just 745 yards in 2006.

We MAY go with Maroney as our dominant back this year, but he could get injured or we could go with a tandem again. (Morris could do more than I expect from him, and we could pick somebody up in the draft.)

Even if he is our dominant back, I think we'll see a much heavier focus on the pass this year.

All things considered, I think there is a ~40% chance that Maroney does not break 1000 yards rushing.

None of these comments should be considered to be a knock on Maroney. At the beginning of last year I loved his moves to the outside, but I was very concerned about his ability to run inside. As the season progressed (but before he got injured) he showed us that he could both run inside and catch, so I am very excited about his 2007.

I just don't see us giving him 300 attempts. (Nor do I think its advisable to do so. Running backs can break when you use them too much).

I Didn't put under a thousand yards, because i can't see any way he's under that unless he's injured

If Dillion wasn't on the team last year do you think he would only of had 745 yards?

Wow we have some pretty conservative estimates here. Someone even wants a sub, 1,000 option! Maroney will blow up big time. I've got a good feeling about him.

IF we used him as much as we used Dillon and Maroney combined and
IF he didn't spend too much time injured as a result

the there is no way he goes under 1000 yards last year.

But those are two VERY big IFs, and they apply to this year as well.

Last year ten teams didn't have a 1000 yard rusher.

Four years from now MOST teams won't have a 1000 yard rusher.

So you believe that Maroney will be injured and he won't get more carries this year despite the fact that we let Dillon loose? I love the optimism in this town!

I'm very optimism about Maroney's 2007, but he isn't a strong enough back to fundamentally alter the laws of probability.

The poll should have had a fewer than 1000 yards option.

Answer me this:

Which is more likely?

A. Maroney gets more than 1400, but not more than 1500 yards

B. Maroney gets fewer than 1000 yards.

Last year only one back (Parker) achieved option A.

Most of the league's backs achieved option B.

On 10 teams, all of the backs achieved option B.

i just hope he can stay healthy .if he does he will get 1200 in his sleep.
