Mentioned this guy yesterday. Don't ignore him.

From a testing point of view, the star of the show was not a player from the Buffalo roster rather a sleeper defensive end/outside linebacker prospect from Marist College. Terrence Fede, who was given a 7th-round grade by scouts entering the season, measured 6040/278lbs then ran in the mid-to-high 4.7s in the forty. I'm told during training Fede was running in the high 4.6s. His other marks included 25 reps on the bench, 9-11 in the broad, 4.4s short shuttle and a 7.02 three cone. Afterwards, I'm told Fede looked impressive in both linebacker and defensive end drills. Keep him on your radar.

A decent piece on Cody Latimer. His comparables include Torrey Smith, Eric Decker, Steve Johnson. As a 3rd to 4th round value, he's pretty good.

Rotoviz also has an article, titled "2014's Most Underrated: Albert Wilson", comparing Wilson to T.Y. Hilton, Randall Cobb, and Kendall Wright that ended with this positive conclusion:

Great list!!!! I noticed you have Ealy ranked 22nd, lower than what I would expect him to be. What is it about him that you don't like?
He would have been one of the guys that if he fell, I would really want the Pats to jump on.

I somehow missed this, Manx. My apologies for not responding. It takes a lot of work to put together this kind of list.

A few thoughts:

1. Is this your board in general, your board for the Pats in particular, or what you think the Pats' board will look like?

2. Interesting that Travis Swanson has dropped all the way to 32. Has something changed for you? I see you don't have Weston Richburg - what don't you like about him?

3. I was interested to see Jackson Jeffcoat ranked so highly. Would you care to explain your thinking? Also interested to see Anthony Barr ranked that high.

4. No Marcus Smith. I know his 3-cone was poor, but do you think that takes him off the board altogether?

5. Interested that Jace Amaro has dropped to the #4 TE on your board, and behind Donte Moncrief. Again, is that because of his poor 3-cone?

6. It seems like you put a lot of weight on the 3-cone with guys who you haven't otherwise been particular high on (Trent Murphy, Kony Ealy, Anthony Barr).

I have no criticisms, just questions. It's really hard to put together a big board like this, and I applaud all your hard work. I haven't done one yet (though I know Aaron Donald will be #1 on it!).

How big will your final board be? I think this is a great list because you are doing this from a patriot perspective and it allows me to become familiar with some names I might be hearing during the draft when it's time for the pats' selection.

I can't give you great feedback because I'm new and really just started learning all of my draft information from this board.

Not to give you more work, but I'm curious about which players you might be projecting to different positions in the NFL. E.g. Joel Bitonio strikes me as an ideal Pats-style guard prospect.

p.s. do you have any mental cutoff points where you'd start thinking about trading, up or down?

Great effort; curious why TE Arthur Lynch, Safety Ed Reynolds or DE Scott Crichton do not appear
on the list. Are there athletic limitations, game tape shortcomings, or some of both?

I'm conflicted on Ealy. Logically I think he makes a lot of sense. He has decent size to play DE in our system and can move inside and offer passrush from the DT position. His 3-cone also suggests both a fit and passrush upside. But then I watch him and I just never see it. It's there in very occasional glimpses but not much beyond that. My grade is really indicative of the fact that I think he's a good logical fit, but that I'm not personally a big fan.

1. I agree with you 100% on Bitonio, one of my favourite picks at #62. He screams Patriot to me.

2. As regards trading cutoffs, yes I do and I'll probably flesh that out in my next version. But in brief, I'd trade up for Ebron and Donald in the first and trade up for Tuitt, ASJ, Kyle Fuller and Jimmie Ward if they slipped to mid second round.

1. I'm not a fan of Arthur Lynch who I've always felt lacks both athleticism and size. If I can't have one of the top four (or Fiedoerowicz), then I'd rather just wait until the aix or seventh and pick up someone with some upside. I don't like the depth at TE in this draft.

2. Haven't had a chance to watch Ed Reynolds yet which is why he isn't included.

3. I just can't get excited about Scott Chrichton. Like Ealy he's one I want to like but when I do I'm just left feeling flat. Unlike Ealy however, Chrichton doesn't have the length or athletic upside.

1. It's my interpretation of how I think the Pats board might look but with some of 'my guys' included.

2. Damnit! Left Richburg off. Thanks. As for Swanson, I admit his tape doesn't excite me but I still thinks he's a tremendous fit. He isn't a top player though - a bit of a push with our second rounder, but a third rounder comfortably.

3. I think extra pass rush is one of our top needs and this board reflects that. Pass rushers with good 3-cones will feature predominantly on this board. Jeffcoat, Ealy, Murphy, Barr and to a lesser degree Martin reflect that.

4. I still like Marcus Smith but if you tract our history of drafting edge players, the 3-cone is very important. So yes, that's why he's not on the board. Put it this way, his 3-cone was slower than the 6-6 300lb + JuWuan James.

5. Yes on Amaro. I said previously that I thought he looked like a linear athlete and his 3-cone only served to prove that. I also like Moncrief's upside as a potential #1 receiver.

6. Firstly, the 3-cone is proven to be an important element in predicting pass rush success so it makes sense. Secondly, after last year, I told myself that I would heavily favour the 3-cone in trying to predict what the Pats would do. If I had done so last year, I might have successfully predicted Mark Harrison, Josh Boyce and Logan Ryan.
