I was called a "fgt" because I think they need more than Alfonso Dennard (who's in jail as I type this) and a 2nd year player who played limited snaps last season. I'm so out of line, I must be a troll

No, you got called a fgt because you questioned how hard I am through the internet. Just this morning, I made a post on here, chugged raw eggs, repped 545 on the bench 10 times, and fired my wife's head through the window.

I'm with you, if they had only traded for talib 2 years ago when schiano offered they would have two more rings by now......

I'm MAD.

IF THEY DON'T DRAFT JOHNNY FOOTBALL I AM NEVER WATCHING ANOTHER SNAP. THESE GUYS ARE JUST LOSERS WHO WANT TO WATCH BRADY LOSE LOSE LOSE. WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING HERE!!!!!!!

So they are good enough w Dennard and Ryan at CB to win a SB? Manning and Moore agree.

no, that's why i am so mad. If we had peyton then we would win the super bowl. If they don't sign peyton manning i am never watching another snap.

That's OK, after all it is Florida, and you have every right to send you wife's head through the window, I am sure you were just standing your ground when she made a move on the raw eggs.

So now who's the troll

You're also making no sense.. Get cancer and die

I'm with TNG, there's no way I'm wasting my time watching the Pats D get constantly shredded by everyone if Ryan/Dennard are starting next year.

I'm 100% sure Bellichick isn't that stupid though, so it doesn't matter.

I think when he got hurt in the middle of the season this year it was his hip again.

That's correct. I was just talking about the Bronco game/Welker cheap shot.

Mr Roosevelt, I never pegged you for a Patriots fan.

Some people jump on bandwagons and others do not. That is fine, but I am curious why you waste time posting on a message board if you are not really a fan of the team.

For instance, I am a bandwagon red sox fan. I do not read the articles or post on red sox message boards.....

I'm not a bandwagon. I'd watch the games regardless who's out there. It's a figure of speech. I'm saying if they want to be a Super Bowl contender, they can't have Dennard and Ryan be your starting corners and even the most die hard homers know it.

On the subject of Talib, it's gonna suck watching him go. However, if he really is insistent on getting top CB money, then I'd let him walk, and use the money we would have spent to either improve other areas of the D, or to resign Edelman.... The secondary will definitely take a step back without Talib, but I doubt it will be 11' level bad, unless one of our starters has a down year.

I wouldn't say that is true. I never thought they would make the Superbowl the last time they went, but they certainly showed me.

You presume a lot.

It's not hard to win the AFC east

It's not hard to beat the young Colts at home.

Boom, one game away from the SB... So they were close, right? Not really. The bracket says they were close, but they weren't.

You can be happy go lucky and wish and hope and pump up the franchise all you want. They aren't winning without significantly upgrading the current roster. That includes getting some guys healthy, free agents, and resigning guys.

You can call me stupid for "presuming a lot" but you know it's true also.

First, I just disagree with your premise. You would never expect the Cardinals to beat the Seahawks, yet they did.

You never know what will happen when you get into the playoffs.

You would never expect the 2001 Patriots to get to the superbowl, nevermind beat the greatest show on turf. In football anything can happen on any given sunday.

Heck, who would have thought the Patriots would be able to win a superbowl with a young Assante Samuel and Randall Gay manning the CB spots?

Yep, "truth" in football varies day to day or game to game.

Without Talib or another very good cornerback, the Patriots will
be near the bottom of the league in pass defense.

I appreciate your respectful response even though you disagree.

I'm frustrated that one of the best QBs of all time is nearing the end and the franchise doesn't seem to be all in with Brady. Rookie receivers? Really? Letting Welker go.... Brady is about done.

It doesn't have to be Talib, but it has to be better than Dennard.

It doesn't have to be Troy Polamalu, but it's gotta be better than Harmon. See what I mean?

I'm not playing Madden here and asking them to go get Firzgerald and Beadles and Graham and Verner and Revis and Whitner.... But we've seen them reallllly struggle in certain areas and to expect that to magically fix itself is wishful thinking.

Agreed. Unfortunately, it's not necessarily a given that Belichick will replace him with someone capable. We saw that with the safety situation in 2011 and the Seymour trade in 2009 and 2010.

I'm Torn...on the one hand, he is a top cornerback and really is important to our defense.

on the other hand, the last two AFCCG he has been injured and not on the field...not even giving it a go. and that killed us.

if you want quality players though you need to pay them. I would rather break the bank on talib than have to watch Dennard get burned time and time again by D.Thomas. Brady is coming to near the end of his career. Why keep letting these solid players go? What are we saving the money for? Lets try and go win one now.

Pretty telling stat.

trey wingo ?@wingoz 4m
Is Aqib Talib worth top dollar? In last 2 AFC title games when he played.. QBs completed 53% of passes. When he left w/injury jumped to 71%

Talib is that much of a difference maker, but can we count on him?
