We have four top draft picks (first four rounds). Arguably, as of now, we have draft needs at EVERY position except perhaps at special teams. So when we say that we want BPA at a position of need, that BPA has no restrictions; we have needs everywhere.

To me, it seems likely that Belichick will see what falls to him and likely trade down. It seems that almost no position should be ruled out.

HOWEVER, there is the possibility that we will go into the draft with a real NEED in which case, I could see us using two top picks for that need. The only one I see in this category is TIGHT END.

Obviously, Belichick will reduce the needs in the next three months, so we can focus on needs a bit more then.

I agree that TE is the most likely double dip prospect this year. A lot of that will come down to how Josh McDaniels perceives the TE in his offense.

I don't think so. I don't think there are enough quality TE prospects that the Pats double-dip there. I think it's more likely they "double-dip" by taking 2 D-linemen early (One DT/NT, One DE/DT). There is also a chance that the Pats double dip at CB if they have parted ways with Talib and feel comfortable with Dennard/Ryan starting.

I agree that the depth isn't there for TE this year but there are some potential winning combos available. For example:

Amaro-Fiedorowicz
Amaro-Niklas (unlikely as it'll require a 1st and 2nd)
ASJ-Rodgers (my favourite)
Rodgers-Fiedorowicz (I quite like the value on this)
Niklas-Rodgers
Amaro-Najvar
Rodgers-Najvar (Najvar is an intriguing size/athleticism upside guy).

My question mark on De and DT is whether there are decent early round DT options or later round DE options.

This is a very good CB draft though so I do like the options there if they don't re-sign Talib. Roby-Purifoy would be a huge upside option and any draft that contains Kyle Fuller would be a win as far as I'm concerned. I'm also a fan of Exum and intrigued by Jemea Thomas and his unnaturally long arms.

or they could go draft-FA double dip.

I like Fiedorowicz - Pettigrew with the assumption Gronk comes back heathly.

Any change in your thinking since last night?

Sure, we have needs everywhere. I want to address as many as possible through a combination of FA and the draft. Certainly I want to address TE and OL. But depth on defense and pipelining some key positions is still my priority.

Agree 100pct DaBruinz. First, I think we're a two year rebuilding job from being a championship team. The Gronk/Ahern problems have made it that on offense. I'm willing to wait another year and see what Gronk comes back like. Maybe, spend a 3-4 on a te. Not, a top 2 pick. Have to upgrade our roster. And, once SF/Sea start paying Wilson and Kaepernick they will start to lose personnel.

I mentioned last week a draft of Donald and Dee Ford would be my ideal one. I reallize we can't get both. But, I'd take one or the other at 29. I've been biatching and moanin about not being athletic enough on defense for a few years. Seattle's DL actually ran down some screens. Can you imagine our guys doing that? LOL.

Truth hurts. But, Pete Carroll has a better idea on how to play defense in the current NFL than Belichick.
