Re: Pats D needs to knock Manning on his ***** today

For some reason, I am more concerned about Moreno and their running game than I am about Manning.

Why, they ran for almost 300 yards last time and they lost?

Re: Pats D needs to knock Manning on his ***** today

Pats D needs to get not only pressure but HITS on Manning today early and OFTEN. The guy still has a high ankle sprain and is even LESS mobile than he usually is. We need to rattle this guy's cage and knock him on his ***** ALOT today to win this game. If he can sit back there all day with the weapons he has he will pick us apart. This game will come down to the DEFENSE....and not only good D....but Bone rattling sacks on the Forehead...and hard hits and GOOD tackling everywhere else.....If we can keep this guy on his a## and off the field....Pats win the game decisively!!! GO PATS!!!!

I want to see some well-timed blitzing for a change.

Last time was a freak game that we really had no business of winning after being down 24 at the half. If we are going to let Moreno have 300 yards again, we are in trouble.

People keep saying this, and they're right, but it ignores the other side of the coin, which is the freak nature of how the Broncos got that 24 point lead. It wasn't Moreno's running that was killing the Patriots.

IMHO I don't expect to see a lot of blitzing against Manning today. I think if they tried he'd get rid of the ball quick and BB knows that. He's just too experienced to try that.

Yes but we had a good passing game with Gronkowski which Moreno was not going to be able to keep up with. This time the tables have turned, we have lost Gronk and they have gained Julius Thomas who wasn't there last time.

At the very minimum, we need to be able to handle their pass attack or we have no chance. So assuming that we are even in the passing, it becomes a battle between our run with Blount vs. their run with Moreno and I feel we need to decisively win that one.

With the way Denver's O-lineman are allowed to get away with flagrant holding, I wouldn't expect much from the pass rush.

like they only played with DBs today...no pressure

Not sure why you were expecting a weak pass rushing team to get good pressure against Manning.

Sorry..i expected a team with 48 sacks...5th in the NFL...to get pressure

You'd like your 11.5 sack guy to beat his man once or twice. That's not Ryan Clady at LT for Denver.

Well there's more to pressure than just sacks. Let's not fool ourselves here, QBs usually aren't running for their lives against our front 7. They deserve credit for being opportunistic finishing the sacks when they're there. But they just aren't a ferocious pass rushing front that teams fear.

They didn't get much pressure on Manning last game either.

Any smart team can block one guy when you only have one good pass rusher. We did that to Mathis last week.
