This is just for fun everyone.

We trade Mallett for Cleveland's 4th overall pick.

There are no takers for trading back or up. You have to pick at 4.

Clowney is off the board.

Who do you pick?

I have it down to four:

Khalil Mack
Mike Evans
Sammy Watkins
Darqueze Dennard

Mike Evans nearly gets it for me, but Sammy Watkins is so explosive that he becomes the pick. He can be used as a runner, receiver or returner and so long as Brady can throw him open, Watkins will eat up the yards. He's a combination of Cordarelle Patterson and Kendall Wright.

I doubt anybody will agree with me but I take the best football player in this draft, CJ Mosley.

Would take Jake Matthews - If he's gone also then would take Evans

I would go in another direction with Hageman or Kelvin Benjamin. But of your choices, I would go Watkins and not think twice. I am personally not a fan of Evans. He pulls and pushes off more than any wr I have ever seen. He is a walking offensive pass interference.

I am going for the biggest impact. Watkins for me.

I'm going with the best player, Khalil Mack.

Out of the names you listed I'd probably go Watkins because of his insanely high potential and explosivness, the need certainly isn't that high. I'd love to take Dennard but he's definitely going top 5. I like Evans a lot too but I don't know how he translates into the NFL

Vollmer? Soldier?

In this scenario I actually wouldn't mind picking Matthews. You can argue he is the best player on the board (or even the draft) and he plays a premium position. Solder has had some concussion issues and is due for an extension so he could be a replacement. Vollmer has had quite a few injury issue the past few years also. Maybe we could look to transition Vollmer to RG and have Matthews play RT? There are quite a few options we could have if we did go this route, although I would probably prefer to go defense.

Is Manziel still on the board?

If so I trade that puppy back for a King's ransom!

Did I miss something? Teddy B is almost a given, but who're the other 2 Picks in your Scenario?

It doesn't matter. I just didn't want everyone saying Clowney. As I said, it was just meant as a bit of fun and not a realistic scenario. I just felt we haven't talked about the prospects at the top of the draft much this year and I saw this as a vehicle to do so.

I'd go Watkins. His first step is lethal. Watching him take even the short screen passes was a joy to watch. It would be like David Givens x5. I wouldn't even hesitate with his size, speed and skill set.

I'd give Ridley,Mallett for the 4th pick and exchange 2nds. I really like the players at the top of this draft.

All right. Then I'll go with Teddy B.

I'll train'm up for a Year...and then trade'm for a King's Ransom that'd make Robert Griffin jealous!! :rocker:

That probably doesn't jell with the theme that you're going for, and if so: my Apologies.

I have an Addiction to Trading, you see.

Of course, the Intention in trading Teddy B after a Year would be, among other things, to acquire a Top 2 precisely as the Rams shrewdly have...But for that Pick to arrive in 2016 or so.

I was watching Teddy yesterday. I'd keep him as I'd forgotten just how much I enjoyed watching him. Unflappable.

Has that ever happened? I think the idea has merit, though I'd prefer to trade the spot rather than select the player, but it almost seems like teams would view him with less value even if he spent a year learning from the best in the business than he would be fresh in the draft. People talk about Mallett not having any value because he's played so little in the NFL yet all the college QBs taken in the draft haven't played a single snap in the NFL, it doesn't make any sense but that's just the way teams operate.

Yep!!

I can't fault you for that, as I've been steadfastly calling'm my #01 Pick in this Draft from Day 1!!

I, on the other hand, believe that the chances of Tommy FootBall playing at an high level for the next 2 or 3 Years or more to be extremely high, so, rather than prospectively waste BridgeWater's phenomenal Talents on the Bench for 3 or 4 Years, I'd much rather trade'm for an Ocean of Draft Capital, with a mind towards securing the Services, come 2016 or so, of an HackenBerg or Winston in addition to God only knows how much Talent I could accumulate by Parlaying that Trade. :rocker:

Obviously, the fact that the Rams scored huge with the #02 Pick this Year does by no means mean that I should presume to get as lucky in the future...But I've got an eye for Teams that're poised to Take A Big Step Back, and actually targeted what became the #02 Pick in this Year's Mock Drafts ~ though of course I'd only do that in Reality, not in Final Mocks, because what's the fun in that??

And of course...

Montana was a 3rd Rounder, Brees was a 2nd Rounder, Rodgers was a late 1st Rounder, and Brady was a 6th Rounder...So I've never been remotely concerned with getting a Top 2 Pick to find an Hall of Famer.

Has that ever happened?

Your point being?

Forgive me if I give Short Shrift to "Arguments" that bow to Historical Precedent & copying others's Work.

The way of Sheep is not attractive to me.

But Good Luck With That.

I'd prefer to trade the spot rather than select the player

As would I. Did you read the OP??

I don't wish to be harsh, Snake, old Dog: You're a smart guy.

And any thoughtful assault on my Notions is actually greatly appreciated.

But you've got a bad habit of attacking others's thoughts thoughtlessly.

Respectfully submitted.

The scenario is preposterous.

Pats would never settle for the fourth overall pick.

Seriously I'd be happy if they got a third for him. Clipboard holders aren't that hard to find.
