This is more likely, as it takes some time to acclimate to the expectations of a Patriots WR.....

I agree I think with 2 weeks Dobson can give it a go. There is no long term risk to playing on a stress fracture. It comes down to treatment and pain management. Brady played the end of the regular season and the playoffs with a similar injury back in 2010.

Either way I don't really see a connection between us signing Orton to the practice squad and Dobson being placed on IR.

And Brady was NOT himself during that time. Furthermore, Brady wasn't running full speed down the field. A stress fracture in your foot is a very painful injury and the only way for it to heal is to not put any pressure on it..

D the human foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons; it is likely the bone is already completely broken.

The way I see it is Dobson is a 23 year old player with a ton of talent that we invested a 2nd round pick in this past draft and have under contract for 4 more seasons, if there was any long term risk to his playing he would already be on injured reserve, Belichick would not risk it he has shown that time and time again he doesn’t Shanahan it.

If BB thinks Dobs could be back in 3 weeks for the AFCCG, he'll keep him off IR. Maybe even a longer view to a game in 5 weeks.

I think people are jumping to conclusions. The Pats are going to be facing a big WR no matter who they face in the division round. Sounds like Orton will be playing either AJ Green, Dwayne Bowe, or Da'Rick Rogers for the taxi squad. The Pats have no tall WR on the roster who is big enough to play these receivers in practice.

I don't think this has anything to do with the current roster and I seriously doubt Orton will be active at all in the playoffs.

I like this line of thinking. We're going to need this guy, period. I've seen enough of Boyce, KT is hurt and inspires little confidence as well; Collie? Meh, could be useful but we need a downfield guy. As good as the ground game has been recently, there is almost no way they win a SB with Edelman and Amendola as their only legitimate receivers.

Hopefully they can manage to survive until Dobson returns.
