McDaniels is not calling dropped passes and Oline sacks in the first halves.

No but he does coach the offense during the week so if the players are not executing properly then they’re not being coached and prepared properly.

Agreed.

What I'm saying is that Vereen can physically mimic and mentally grasp our offense enough to be what Thomas was to Buffalo in their no-huddle offense. Both in the run and passing game. And I believe we have the receivers to mimic the production of that offense, they weren't dependent on the tight ends, (Pete Metzelars and Lonnie Johnson).

The offense will have to change, but it has the horses to be exceptional as long as the rookies can grasp it-- which at this point they've shown they can.
Rookies have been inconsistent and their best has been with gronk on the field. Grasping is first step, executing in high playoff level vs better defenses is a different animal. It looks good on paper but not in reality. That is my opinion. Come playoffs, teams will double edelman and game plan for vereen.

yeah, a dropped pass and solder getting run over is because of bad coaching. Why not call out scarnecchia then ?He is the oline coach.Iam you will have a theory how scar is being influenced by McDaniels. You just need an excuse to kill mcdaniels. When we do well its brady and the players, when we dont its mcdaniels.

The second half is also McDaniels' game plan. That's why he and Brady are still seen sitting together between series and going over things. The execution during that time is simply better.

You know that Josh is responsible for the lack of execution as well right? That’s why he works more than just Sundays, he is supposed to study film, coach the players, improve techniques, work with the positional coaches on the players strengths and weakness, stuff like that.

I also think that since the Miami game Brady has been willing this team to victories in the second half and the game plan still sucks – like calling a halfback draw on before Edelman caught his touchdown.

True.

Success will ultimately depend on the rookies making critical plays in big moments.

I am not killing anyone; the team has scored 10 points in the first half of games since they came out of the bye, in the first half of the season they had issues scoring in the 3rd quarter of games. Josh McDaniels and the players are not properly prepared for the game and it shows in their performance. I am not going to suggest that we trade and cut every player on our team and fire the positional coaches; the first place I am going to look is at the coordinator. Look at John Farrell this year with the Red Sox look at the impact his pure leadership made on this team, now overall the team is well prepared on defense and special team overall so I cannot say its Belichick because it is not a big picture issue, so that leaves McDaniels as the person who should be held accountable.

whatever..........

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

He did it on his sideline so the ref didn't see it. But he eye in the sky did see it and the NFL office should be sending Josh a letter.

BTW don't bother to quote 'coolguy" he can't respond on this thread.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

earlier we saw the saints gather and celebrate their victory.

Never celebrate a victory over the patriots until the fat lady wins american idol!

hahahahahahaha!!! Look at that guy!! Do you see that big jerk??? Hahahaha

Mr. McDaniels has been doing a good job overall. He did a good job making play calls during this game. Things didn't go well during the first half because of poor execution, not bad play calls on the part of Mr. McDaniels. The teams did good with the play calls in the second half because they executed them better. I have no issue with Mr. McDaniels and I am not sure how anyone can point to him as the problem. Mr. McDaniels is not the one to blame for the team's woes. Nevertheless, The pats won the game and they are currently 1 game away from clenching a playoff berth.

how anyone can put blame on McDaniels is crazy. brady was litterally INCHES off his passes today going deep, if he throws a few passes better this games a blowout.

I have to be honest buddy and I am not trying to sound like a **** but the fact you think in his 13th season Tom Brady has just become this poor QB who cannot execute in the first half of football games is foolish, the fact is this team has been struggling since last season and the only difference to the structure is McDaniels. He is not prepare his offense and he is not developing the correct game plan if you have any question about that you should re-watch the games we have played in the second half.

Without McDaniels

  • 4 SB trips
  • 3 SB victories
  • 2 seasons w/ 100.0 QB rating or higher
  • 2 seasons w/ 35+ touchdowns
  • 3 seasons w/ 65% completion percentage or higher

With McDaniels
  • 1 SB trip
  • 0 SB victories
  • 1 season w/100.0 QB rating or higher
  • 1 season w/ 35+ touchdowns or higher
  • 1 season w/ 65% completion percentage or higher

All the things listed under with Josh were accomplished in the 2007 season. There is no question in my mind if someone is to blame for execution issues on offense it is McDaniels and not TFB.

You only like him because he drafted your homeboy.

gUYS don't let a debbie downer like me be the only optimist her

We beat a 4th rank defense without any starter or star player.

The superbowl is the pats to lose if boyce, thompkins, and dobson can all play together.

You just keep slapping words on the screen.

Another Super Second Round pick by the Patriots. We have missed on quite bit of Second Rounders with the BB dime a dozen approach but Gronk - Soldier and now Vereen are absolute Super Second Round Selections. I said before Vereen is doing what Hernandez did in this Offense and he is even better as a receiver he is like a WR out there his sill set is phenomenal. The kid is a Beast a its a shame Gronk went down.

Add another fun fact to the mix of me KILLING McDaniels – Brady’s only seasons since 2005 with a passer rating below 95.0 all occurred with McDaniels as the coach (2005*, 2006, 2013).

That is 3/5 seasons with McDaniels below 95.0 and 3 combined with all other coaches and those three all occurred in his first 3 seasons as a starter.

*Technically QB coach but was calling plays.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

I saw him do it too but I believe he was doing so at the crowd behind the Cleveland bench.

If we have those slow starts on Offense on the Road, those games might be over at the half. You don't pull off those kinds of games on the Road. We have to get one of those Bye Weeks this Team is in no shape personal wise to play Four Games to glory.

I would just like to thank TPTB for not starting this thread until the game was actually over. *cough* Saints Game *cough*

The cause and effect relationships you try to establish are particularly amusing to me Brady6. I suppose, at least you are consistent.

This won't be popular but Chandler Jones has to do better against the run. I've thought he's been at least partially responsible for a number of big runs this season. I'm thinking about the Gordon reverse in the context of this game. I don't know what the responsibilities were but he went haring after the initial ball carrier and therefore was in no position to contain his side of the line.
Out side of the reverse and 2 scrambles the Browns managed 49yds on 22 carries, or well under 3 ypc. The reverse was simply a great call, at a perfect time, and well executed. To lambast Jones for that is ludicrous.

However if you want to lambast him for being schooled by the best LT in the business on his pass rushing, then that's another story.
