I've posted before one incident not likely visible to the TV viewer. In his first pre-season game his rookie year in Philly, JE was showing Joey Galloway where to line up on plays, on several occasions. It was obvious then, that he grasped the playbook while Galloway didn't. And that was the game he returned a punt for a TD. Guy in front of me at the Linc turned around (I was wearing a Troy Brown jersey) and asked "how the hell do the Patriots keep finding these type of players?"
Make no mistake about it Julian Edelman showed everyone including the man himself who our true replacement for Wes Welker is.
• Games – 11
• Targeted – 89
• Receptions – 61
• Catch rate – 68.53%
• Receiving yards – 610
• Yards per reception – 10.0
• Touchdown receptions – 4
This season Edelman has more touchdowns this season than Amendola has in any season in his career and if he gains just 80 more receiving yards over the next 5 games he will have more receiving yards than Danny Amendola has had in a season, Edelman is the best slot receiver on this team he made that clear last night when he showed up when it mattered. If it comes down to money we should pay the player who was targeted 11 times resulting in 9 receptions for 110 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns over the player who was targeted 6 times resulting in 3 receptions for 17 yards and no touchdowns.
Overall I am very happy with the development of Edelman this season and also disappointed in the poor investment into Danny Amendola who once again proved he is not capable of filling the void left my Wes Welker.

Couldn't find DA with a search warrant last night nice to see Thompkins step up wouldn't mind seeing DA relegated to the Bench. We want more for our $5Mill Danny.
Amendola did have 3 catches last night. Short yards, but still.
And I love KT, but wasn't he invisible the last few games (even a healthy scratch from one)? It seems receiver production in NE varies wildly from game to game.
KT was shut down for one game came on strong in last two.
His catches the last five games: 3, 2, 0, 2, 6 with one TD.
Amendola: 2, 3, 4, 6, 3 with one TD.
Yeah, we should poop on Amendola because he was quiet last night. And I like KT a lot. Production in this offense is game to game, unless you're Gronk.
Mystifies me why people demonize players and want them cut. We're much better If Amendola gets back to the form he started the year with. Also, love Edelman, but i don't want to depend on his health either.
Injuries are rampant in this league. The more good players in their rhythm, the better.
KT is catching most of the balls thrown to him that 2 was 2 targets for 60 yards and that 6 was of 9 targets for 56 yards. Also he should have drawn a PI in the OT he was tackled by the CB.
Last five games:
KT - 13 catches/22 targets/177 yards
DA - 18 catches/27 targets/199 yards
Keep trying.
Fixit Danny is a soft overrated player if you cannot see that take your blinders off. 9 out of 10 Patsfans would take Welker back over DA in a sec. KT and AD will vault right pass him before you know it and thats if they haven't already to the Coaches.

Kind of unfair using 5 games when KT was inactive for one of them.
Also, KT is a rookie making 410k a year, and Amendola is a 6 million a year 5 year vet. KT gets open way more, I'd rather him on the field.
