Three theories on why Ridley got all that work Sunday

I agree with your premise but disagree about Blount - he's averaging more yards per carry than Ridley through nine games. Blount is doing a fine job.

Take away Blount or Boldens lone 40+ yard runs and their averages drop to well under 4.0 (at least before yesterdays game they did). Take away Ridley's long of 23 and his average hardly moves.

Ridley is consistent, Blount and Bolden's averages are influenced by 1 single long run each. Not to take credit away from them for their long runs, but they are skewing the averages in their favor when they generally look like trash.

BB was like...

one theory...he is by far the best RB they have

If Ridley obviously had ball protection problems, Belichick would bench him. The "fumble" was essentially an incomplete pass that was called - unchallengabley I think - a fumble. I think Belichick sort of agrees with me on that.

I thought it was clear bill bench ridley because he fumbled with zero contact.

Take away his long run in Atlanta and the garbage time yards he gained against Tampa and yesterday against the Steelers you'd be lucky if he was averaging 3 yards a carry. 202 of Blounts 312 yards have come in the 4th quarter of a game. In the first half he is averaging 2.7 yards per carry.

Wait, let me get this straight. People actually think Cannon is a better run blocker than Vollmer? You can't be serious.
