Seemed to have barely played since catching the game winner vs NO and now he's a healthy scratch? Is he in trouble for some reason?

We could always tell he was very talented but unpolished. Now that Collie has been integrated into the offense, he's been deemed a more consistent option. I don't think it's too bad of a sign for Thompkins long term, because we all knew he needed more polishing. Now he just gets to do it behind the scenes.

Hit the rookie wall

Only so many balls to go around. With Amendola healthy and Gronk back, Thompkins is the odd man out. It was probably between him and Dobson for the outside spot.

What the heck happened with collie? Is he out for the year too? They didn't even show when he got hurt.

Thompkins isn't the first round talent people think he is.

They didn't show Collie getting hurt because Simms and the other boob were too busy talking about the Steelers defense. That being said, I DID see Collie hobble off. They said it was a knee injury and he was out for the game. This was just prior to the end of the 1st half.

The extent of Collie's injury is unknown but my guess is that it's a sprained knee at the very minimum .

Collie was hurt in second quarter.

Dobson showed why he is the starter over KT.

Gronk back, Amendola healthy-ish, Dobson rising, Edelman & Collie ahead in the depth chart.

Thompkins has been assigned to pump up the Real Housewives of Foxboro patriot crowd.

How is Collie a more consistent option? He has 3 catches in 4 games.

BB just said "he was inactive".

Do you know what is going on in practices??? He is potentially a good player, but needs work..

Consistent in the "where Brady wants you when he wants you there" sense.

I suspect his presence or absence has more to do with (1) the opponent, (2) available personnel and (3) the offensive game plan. He and Collie are different types of receivers, so I do not believe it is one or the other.

Today's decision is probably not a dog house issue. He may have fallen back behind the returned/veteran players, much as Boyce had fallen behind Thompkins. All the rookies should probably not be active in a game if the offense is as was intended. I suspect this does not reflect poorly on Thompkins, or on his future with the Pats.

Q: What's the deal with Thompkins?

A: There is a reason we took Dobson so high and Kenbrell went undrafted. He is good with the potential to be great but Dobson seems like a playmaker.

give him another off season..and i think he will still be a great addition to this team....Won the game for us vs Saints...so that's something

Who would those people be?

KT is a first round talent, his stats are better than almost all rookies out there, and he's shown consistent separation, route running and has made some spectacular plays. Sorry, but most rookies simply aren't as good so early, and other some dropsies on a few easy balls, has been really productive for the pats so far.

I mean, he's looked better than Ochocinco and a whole slew of receivers over the years in only his first year.

Dobson is really good too, although a different type of receiver. I'm glad we have both these guys, and wouldn't trade them for any other rookie out there, which is crazy if you think about it.

My sick dog looked better than Ochocinco. Quoting the moonbats is a pretty pointless exercise, I thought you were quoting more logical fans.

So, Brady must be worn out at his age, do you think it's time to start Mallet?

Yes, it's crazy, no question about that. It's absolute insanity.
