It's one thing when crazy paranoid fans(like me) says things about it -like the fact all 6 seeds won a superbowl in a 6 year span up to 2012 among other statistics improbabilities(impossibilities?) that have taken place more and more recently, but it's another when players start showing concern. And this time it's from the Superbowl winners, not losers.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs accuses NFL commissioner Roger Goodell of having a role in the Super Bowl blackout during an interview on ESPN's "E:60" that will air Tuesday.

The Ravens led the 49ers 28-6 before the lights went out for 34 minutes at the Superdome in the Super Bowl. San Francisco rallied after the blackout, forcing Baltimore to hold on for a tight win.

"I was like Vegas, parlor tricks, you know what I mean?" Suggs said. "I was like, ahh, Roger Goodell, he never stops, he always has something up his sleeve. He just couldn't let us have this one in a landslide, huh?"

ESPN NFL commentator Ray Lewis brought up a conspiracy theory recently, but Suggs pointed the finger directly at Goodell.

"I thought he had a hand in it," Suggs said. "Most definitely, he had a hand in it."

Suggs said he believes Goodell favors some teams over others.

"We walk out of the Denver game, and linebackers are warming up on their sideline, and who do we see talking with John Elway, and it's like hmmm. I thought, your commissioner is supposed to be neutral," Suggs said. "He ain't supposed to be on one side or the other; he's supposed to be in the box. I saw him on their sideline and I was like, huh, I know who he's going for. I think he definitely has his favorites."

Suggs added, "He'll deny it but, like I said, when I run out of the tunnel and the first thing I see is John Elway laughing it up, I'm definitely going to feel some way about that. You're the commissioner of this league and you're supposed to make sure everything is being played on an even playing field. I definitely don't think he's doing a good job, and I don't think he should be making $10 million a year. That's just my personal opinion."

So should we start emaling Goodell and ask for permission if we can win one this year or does he have the Donkeys locked in?

This is why Belichick doesn't want most of his players to say anything, in general most football players aren't very bright.

Too funny.Wasn't Goodell driving the Ray Lewis Farewell Victory Tour bus last year?

That wouldn't mean they're not interested in ratings that blowouts don't produce.

That streak of luck that struck Atlanta against us certainly made the game more interesting to the end and kept a few more people watching TV.

Replay booth malfunction for exactly 1 coache's challenge! Then it works fine. Ooops.

Because Roger the rocket scientist knew the Ravens would suck after the blackout?

If people really believe any of this nonsense, why watch football. If you believe it, you believe football is wrestling, so why do you watch?

Why watch any sport? Watch, don't bet.

But from FIFA to NBA to Football, if you don't believe it, you haven't watched sports enough. It happens. I just try to put it out of my mind and as Bill says, "don't worry about things you can't control."

Doesn't mean I should be blind to it though.

So what exactly are you saying about wrestling?

Next thing you'll be saying is that there is no such thing as Santa Claus.

Usually if a coach or player suggests a ref might have missed a called they'll get fined. This is a player saying that the league is fixed. How is this not a multigame suspension against Suggs?

Suggs' been talking to Joker.

It's a real shame that money can't cover up stupidity.

If by stupidity you mean the hitman should never rat out the boss, then I agree. ;)

The hitman is unlikely to have a good career afterwards, but then again, I don't think guys like him and Ray Lewis give a damn anymore(no pun intended).

So let me get this straight. The all-powerful commissioner is determined that the Ravens must lose at all costs. So his diabolical plan is -- rather than using any of his influence over the game and its officials -- to cause a giant blackout in the middle of the flippin' Superbowl, making the NFL and the host city look like incompetent fools and pissing off advertisers and the rich sponsors partying in the luxury boxes, somehow intuiting that this will make the 49ers play way, way better.

That's the kind of conspiracy theory that gives conspiracy theories a bad name.

No. What he's saying is the Ravens would have blown them out, and a tight close game makes people watch the game until the end. It extends the the time advertisers get exposure and increases ratings.

Who cares if the city looks incompetent? People still watch to the end.

You got it backwards. It doesn't piss off advertisers. Close games to the end is what advertisers want to see. People turn off the TV during blowouts.

I still say that there should have been a sixth season of The Wire that revolved around the Ravens.

This. And if he really wanted the Ravens to lose, maybe someone would have called PI when the 49ers recievers were molested in the end zone at the end (THE biggest moment an outside influence could have altered the game). Actually, that's not even wanting the Ravens to lose that would be calling it down the middle and not helping the Ravens. I really never understood Suggs' fanboys, the guy is a complete douche and one of the most unlikeable characters in sports.

This assumes that Goodell knew that a blackout would affect Baltimore adversely while also energizing the 49ers.

Why assume? Last time I checked the NFL still pays the refs.

It's Suggs and is therefore meaningless. What else needs to be said?

This explains why the 49ers were able to come back.

When the power issue happened the Ravens "leaders" Suggs and Lewis immediately started crying about conspiracies and the 49ers used the time more wisely to prepare and try to figure out how to stage a comeback.

Usually teams that whine and always blame others where there is adversity don't win, but sometimes they get lucky.

See the Peyton in 06, Ravens in 13, etc.
