I don't know how Jets fans think this guy is a Patriots homer. He definitely stirs the pot here:

I think Rob Gronkowski is healthier than most injured players working their way back to playing shape, and he’s not playing. This is a strange story, folks. The Patriots might be able to sweep it under the rug for now, and it might even be a good idea for Gronkowski to sit for two or three more weeks, because he might be at the stage of his career that cries out for the conservative physical approach—he might have only a limited number of snaps in him before he breaks down again. Who knows? But there’s something odd about a story when a guy practicing like Rob Gronkowski says he’s not ready to be Rob Gronkowski in a game.

It's time for me to call for a tee time. I'm reading too many of these threads.

Gronk has not had a full practice yet. Seems like that would be a pretty reasonable next step towards a return. I don't see the story here.

I thought this was an oddly and vaguely worded entry in MMQB today. I don't even know what this means:

Is he saying Gronk is going fine/100% in practice but too shell-shocked to get back into a game?

Not quite on topic of this particular King post, but here's a gif of Peter King wagging his finger at you in judgmental disapproval. Enjoy.

The medium continues to be the message...

Wonder how he fact checked this hearsay, did he do it by getting more hearsay??

That is the Borges standard of corroboration.

I wish this was on the ceiling in our bedroom.

It was mentioned last night on NBC that he had some practices this week with tons of catches (13 catches?), FWIW.

Remember whom they have King teamed up with now on NBC as the alleged "insiders."

13 catches in practice. Seriously, someone was there to count? Were these in intense 7-on-7s with full pads and contact? Or are we talking warmups here?

I had a catch with my son yesterday.

We each caught more than 40.

Right on, brother. Do these people even use a modicum of common sense when they write this tripe.

Think about it. At the start of the off season Gronk was unable to lift because of his forearm. Then in LATE June he has a back procedure which reportedly had a 10-12 week recovery time. So for the greater part of the first 6 months after the post season, Gronk had done NO strength work. Over that time he must have lost a significant amount of muscle mass. IIRC he came back to work when there was about 2 weeks left in the preseason. That means he's had just 6 weeks or so to regain his strength

Just because he's now running comfortably and he can snag a few passes in the simulated action that passes for practices these days doesn't mean he's ready to take the contact necessary to play full out on Sundays.

As Darryl states, this is just ANOTHER example of the media creating a story where their is none. One of these days I'd love to do a story on the possibility that Peter King molested his daughters. I mean its possible. He had close proximity to them over a long period of time. And then there there was that unnatural obsession to constantly write about them in his columns. I think that's enough in today's journalistic climate to make such a charge. Those poor girls

What ticks me off about these "controversies" is that there REALLY IS a story in New England going on right now.

Without pretty much their entire receiving corps from last year, the gritty and gutsy Patriots, the very definition of a TEAM, are 4-0.

There's the story, and it's a great one. An aging Brady bringing along a bunch of kids.

The friendship between Dobson and Thompkins.

Josh Boyce stepping up last night.

The return of a dominant running game in the NFL.

There's no need to stir pots here...there are tremendous stories to be told in New England right now. POSITIVE stories.

BBs style in reporting injury news about his team leads directly to this type of journalism.

It is what it is. BB won't care what Peter King writes.

I was referring to the fact that he has been "limited" in every practice, which means he has not had a full practice yet.
