Basically, it's the same tactic used against Andre Johnson last year and he effectively shut Vincent Jackson down. Given the result I like his match up with Julio Jones coming up. Should be fun to watch.

Talib looks way, way better now than he did last season. He's a borderline elite cover corner at this point.

After the whole Hernandez situation I think the team is going to play it cautiously.

I'd love for him to stay around too, but his red flags are issues to keep in the back of their mind.

They can always tag him, get one more year out of him. Tillman is also a free agent next year and the Bears have to deal with Cutler still.

Well so far he has, and as long as nothing major happens to him this season as far as an off-the-field incident or injury, I hope they can lock him up. It'll probably take more than the $5M he's getting this year, but they'll have the cap room to make a few moves. I think the money on the Ninkovich extension can rule out them making a run at a free agent DE, which is the position where Belichick has spent the biggest money on outside free agents. Looks like it could be another offseason of mostly taking care of their own, and assuming a young WR or two steps up between now and this offseason, that should be perfectly okay.

With all the worries I remember hearing about this kid last year, probably deserved, I am thrilled with Talib's performance with us.

Way to earn a paycheck and what a way to contribute. Crossing my fingers that nothing stupid will ever happen with him. If he keeps this type of play up, he's going to be a force in this league.

So far this trade was a true blockbuster. I'm a fan and I hope we lock him down. We need him. Period.

Have loved Talib's play in pretty much every game he's been on the team. Too bad his injury came in the biggest game of his career.
