NFL (league wide) roster cuts – players of interest

I could see McGuffie interesting BB. We had him in on a pre-draft visit and check out his pro-day numbers:

4.36 40
42" Vert
6.57 3-cone

heh I remember that YouTube sensation. He's fast and can catch, I'm not sure we have room for him.

Only if they cut Leon Washington (the tweet said WR but McGuffie is a RB/WR). They've been trying out Boyce and Blount as KRs so I don't know if Washington's place is rock-solid.

Both Texans and the Saints have pretty good QBs, If I were Rex, I would at least inquire.

That was my line of thinking as well.

2009 JMD 2nd rounder TE Richard Quinn and his 1 career reception been released.

Maybe JMD can pair his former draft picks, the TE who can't play his position with the QB who can't play his position. Redemption! A 5th year developmental TE, maybe possible punt protector? It almost makes too much sense.

He's actually a pretty decent blocking TE. That said, Josh McDaniels was stupid for drafting him in the 2nd round because he is _only_ a blocking TE.

I originally posted that as a joke but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

Josh Cribbs is the only one I give a look. We've got enough TEs, but I think L. Washington isn't as good as the Pats though he would be.

BB must have needed some "hoodie time" after seeing those numbers.

The only buzzkill is that, like Ryan Swope, he has a history of concussions.

Didn't know that. unfortunate.

The latest cuts as of 9pm:

Aside from the aforementioned names (Phillips, Zbikowski) some other names of interest:
WR Tommy Streeter - Ratbirds 2012 6th-rounder; similar to Mark Harrison
OT Ramon Harewood - Ratbirds 2010 6th-rounder
DT Vaughn Meatoga - 2012 UDFA, decent athlete
CB Myron Lewis - 67th overall in 2010
CB Johnny Adams - top 200 talent 2013 UDFA
PK Brandon McManus - one of best 2013 UDFA PKs

DeMarcus Van Dyke (CB) was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's incredibly fast so (obviously) he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2011. 81st overall.

That's interesting as a depth pick up.

Given the strengths of Seattle's CBs, would it make sense to look at their upcoming cast offs ? Looks like they currently have 11 on the roster (including IR and PUP).

I'd want to look at Streeter and why he was cut.

I'd say that if a 6'5" WR that runs a 4.37 can't stick in the Ravens' vertical, jump-ball offense, he's not going to really fit in anywhere. He was in the perfect place to take advantage of his skillset, but he still wasn't good enough.
