Here are my calculations for all the trades that went down last night:
I am using both the "OLD" trade value chart and "the NEW" one that is based on a 30 year study of players selected at the actual positions:
Miami Dolphins obtain #3 -----------> Oakland Raiders receive #12, #42
Old chart - Oakland received $0.76 on the dollar.
New Chart - Oakland received $1.15 on the dollar
St Louis Rams obtain #8, #71 -----------> Buffalo Bills receive #16, #46, #78, #222
Old chart - Buffalo received $1.0046 on the dollar
New Chart - Buffalo received $1.28 on the dollar
San Francisco 49ers obtain #18 ---------------> Dallas Cowboys receive #31, #74
Old chart - Dallas received $0.91 on the dollar
New Chart - Dallas received $1.32 on the dollar
Atlanta Falcons obtain #22 ---------------------> St Louis Rams receive #30, #92, #198
Old chart - Rams received $0.98 on the dollar
New Chart - Rams received $1.55 on the dollar
Minnesota Vikings obtain #29 -------> New England Patriots receive #52, #83, #102, #229
Old chart - Patriots receive $1.01 on the dollar
New Chart - Patriots receive $1.93 on the dollar.
So, in viewing all of the trades, it is clear to me that despite what some are saying about how it was a bad move to trade down, I love the move. They received a TON OF VALUE and COMPLETELY FLEECED THE VIKINGS!!!
