IMO, there have been a good amount of teams reaching so far in the first round. Things bode very well for our pick.

I think Mayock is pretty straightforward about the players but on Draft Night he can't slam them. He's been pretty accurate about this draft as it unfolding imo, Pugh was a really good call.

He knows the players well enough, he just loves every one of them.

Well, if the Pats are looking for WR or D-Line in the first round, the draft is falling their way right now.

Apparently he hasn't heard of trading back though. Both Manuel and Pugh have been reaches according to most prospect grades. I doubt taking a guard this early is a good idea going strictly by draft value, but they were probably scared he wouldn't last to round 2 because the top two guards went early in Cooper and Warmack. I think a number of teams reached for the OG position in this year's draft.

Pugh offers some positional versatility - he can play LG over Kevin Boothe or RT over David Diehl and still be effective. Was he overdrafted? Perhaps, but the Giants clearly coveted him enough to him make a first rounder. A player that versatile has a chance to shine in their organization.
