5 ' 11 isn't bad at all. Certanly has more height than welker.

I don't know why you'd be all that concerned about height on your burner, anyway. This guy isn't Anquan Boldin.

Is 5'11 that short? I mean, come on. They can't all be Randy Mosses.

Giving up a 3rd with so few picks is tough, but if you get a guy you feel confident can come in and play - that makes it a lot easier.

Stop poaching our guys!

In all seriousness, I really hope there isn't an offer made. This kid has the potential to be the best wide receiver on this team when he's healthy but that's the key here - when he's healthy. His short career has been marred by injuries so far and he hasn't had significant playing time because of that and, well, he was playing behind Mike and AB.

I think he's the most complete receiver we have and has the potential to be great so please, don't take him away from us.

An injury-prone skill position player? Sorry, but he belongs in Foxboro.

So now you've gone from whining about the Pats not making any moves, to whining about the moves they're making.

Good times.

I forgot I can only be happy with anything this organization does. Take off the homer glasses. It's always good times for you because the patriots do no wrong

What kind of injuries? At quick glance he's played in 13, 11, and 16 games from 2010-2012.

Lovely he's short hasn't been super productive and always injured? Bills guy.

Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter

Will be real easy for Patriots to front-load an offer sheet for RFA Emmanuel Sanders. If PITT can't match, it would get NE's 3rd-rd pick.

I'm thinking this may happen the way Schefter is tweeting about it so much.

Is 5'11 short??? This guy is really talented. When Antonio Brown went down with the ankle last year.....Sanders stepped in and made some big plays. All of the Pitt WR's productivity suffered when Rottenburger went down and Batch/Leftwich were throwing the balls out there.....Sanders would be a steal for a 3rd

Another short guy! Yay. Probably chew up a lot of our cap to get the steelers not to match. So dumb go get a defense.

In case some people are missing the point, Sanders is not Randy Moss circa. 2007. This move would be made firmly because of his versatility of being able to play all 3 receiver positions. Something that Danny Amendola can do as well.

This goes away from the relics the Pats had last season in Welker and Lloyd, who both could not be consistently counted on to play multiple spots with varying degrees of effectiveness.

This isn't a move about deep threat, situational or otherwise. Its more so about threatening at all levels of the field, especially in the intermediate to middle-deep portion of it. Sanders and Amendola allow them to do just that. Also, both are significant upgrades to Lloyd, Edelman, and too a lesser extent, Branch. The Tight-Ends can take care of the shorter passing game (Hernandez) and the seam areas (Gronkowski).

Giving up a third rounder for Sanders is smart football decision because there's likely no WR in the 3rd round that can come in and have an immediate type of impact that Sanders could give the Patriots. It also doesn't hurt that he is an above average return specialist.

This can allow the Patriots to spend their first two drafts on positions in the trenches where I believe they're most needed. Everyone believes in drafting a CB and/or WR in the first two rounds but I would rather they go with a gap-penetrating DT and an interior OL. The later rounds and UDFA pool are where depth can be found for those other skill positions. I think depth for those positions are more important than anything else.

What kind of injuries? At quick glance he's played in 13, 11, and 16 games from 2010-2012.

He's had an ankle injury and I think a hammy that was bothering him that limited his snaps. Last year he was finally healthy and played every game, but again, limited action as he sat behind Wallace and AB.

how much cap room do the steelers have atm? could be a nice evaluation of what we would have to offer to not make it matchable by them.

Looking HERE:

(yes, I know it's not updated with the cut of Colon and it has the RFA Tender for Redman twice, though one of them can be Sanders)

It looks like the Steelers only have about 5.5 million in Cap Space... Which is barely enough for them to sign their draft picks.

We have 3 million right now with 5.5 coming on June second. We'll have roughly 9 million in total when other cuts are made, which is plenty for draft picks.

It's not about homer glasses. It's about you (and others) who seem to perpetually whine about any personnel move the Pats make.

Thanks. I remember liking him when PIT played against the Patriots recently.

There's a reason he isn't tendered higher. He's got ok size. I think there should be more focus on the secondary then acquiring every teams number 3 or 4 receiver.

I still believe we'll trade Mallett to the Browns so I'm all for it. The Steelers have a great track of drafting WR and it's hard to shine in an offense with Wallace and Brown. It's just a visit but I really like it.

He hasn't really been THAT injury plagued.....Here is 2012's rap sheet...all probable didn't seem like he lost a ton of time did he?

It's not whining. I'm criticizing them but I guess all criticism equals whining ? I'm sick of posters attacking everyone who questions the organization. Attack the argument not the poster. Just makes you look like a blind zealot.
