Will Amendola be the only move we make at WR?

In my opinion until proven otherwise, Amendola is nothing but an injury prone rams castoff, not a dangerous starting NFL caliber WR. I sure hope the patriots have a plan up their sleeve, maybe go after a real NFL wide receiver like jennings or cruz?

I think Edelman is a lock,there is probably no market at all for him and the Pats have been a perfect fit for his talents.....its a lasting marriage that should come cheap.

I mean, what kind of picks would NE have to give up for Fitz? 1st and 2nd rounders, almost for sure. But holy cow, a set of Gronk, Hernandez, Amendola, and Fitzgerald would be otherworldly.

Scratch that idea, I guess. Bedard was one who wrote something along the lines of "it's not likely, but there's a chance," and he was then told by someone that there is no chance.

I doubt that this will be the last move. They'll bring in at least 1 more, 2+ if Branch is gone (as he should be), and 3+ if Lloyd is gone.

Most of all, the Pats need someone who can beat single coverage outside the numbers. If that's not Lloyd, then they'll have to find someone else who can do it.

And nowhere near the weakest overall receiving corps. I don't see the problem. Belichick's plan seems pretty clear. It's about complimenting the TEs rather than getting as much production as possible even if it's redundant.

also, with ballard here, I'd expect to see hernandez spend more time as something other than TE.

This team went into FA needing a stretch receiver.
Instead it downgraded the slot so now neither spots are solid.

The team needs to sign a stretch receiver before it resigns Edelman.

I expect them to draft someone who can work the outside, this draft is supposedly deep with WR. Eventually they are just going to have to hit on one who can contribute solidly if they want to stop playing these cat-and-mouse games with FA receivers. People seem to automatically discount the idea that the Pats could actually draft a WR who can contribute (or even get on the field) in his rookie year.

I'm not expecting it, just saying that they have to hit one time to alleviate some of the pain at this position. One time, dealer!
