Report: Welker “seriously considering” leaving Patriots

If Wes leaves I am %100 confident that the Patriots will bring in another talented receiver. He likely wont be the slot player Wes is as no one is but he will be good in his own right the Patriots will still be competing for titles.

But what WRs are out there that are really as talented as wes? Cruz but has a tender..in the FA market...we won't pay 9 mill a year for jennings

Draft + sign Amendola and Edelman and hope one of them is active for each game. Not a promising option, but better than overpaying Welker. 7-8 million has to get this done for Welker, I can't imagine he gets more from anyone.

Hope is not something you like to year with those guys. Austin will be gone before the pats pick unfortunately

I don't want that plan to go into effect either both get hurt the second you start targeting them heavily, but they're in a tough spot because the FA wide receivers cabinet is bare. They will probably look for a Demaryious Thomas type in the draft. It would be great to have Welker back, but this pissing match is getting to the point where Bill may just move on.

There is no one better in the league at setting a price for a guy and knowing when to walk away than Belichick and the Pats. We've seen them walk away from vets before and never been burnt. Vinateiri and Branch were, to some small degree, maybe Bill's only regrettable decisions in this arena, and even then, those are arguable at best.

If Welker isn't back, it will be a massive disappointment. But I'm sure Belichick will have made the right call. Really. He does not mess these situations up.

Belichick is the GOAT but he isn't infallible. Letting Samuel walk was a big mistake and it did bite them in the ass imo.

Wes is an UFA. Of course he's seriously considered leaving the Pats - that's intrinsic in the position that he now finds himself in. Like most media reports coming out these days, it means literally nothing.

There's really no point to caring what any reports say from here on out. Eventually, Wes will sign somewhere. Hopefully it will be here.

Also, Bill Simmons just tweeted that he heard it's down to the Pats or the Broncos. Simmons is questionable, at best, when writing about the NFL though (and he's made it pretty clear that he's not a fan of Belichick), so I wouldn't place much stock in it.

When Branch and givens left he brought in Caldwell and Doug Gabriel, however both are tall so that would meet the standards of all of the Madden idiots here. C'mon Mike Williams and chad jackson.

Branch was traded in September or maybe late August by the end of the following April Moss and Wes were both in town.

Not sure. I think Cruz as a Plan B might make some sense. The investment might be a little high but its for a 25 year old not 32.

But looking at my above example neither Moss nor Wes were on the market at that time.

More than likely we wont find someone as good as Wes but they wont cost 8 mil either so you can use the money elsewhere to improve the team.

Probally. Bill may have had enough. But like you said the FA WRs out there are nothing besides jennings who isn't coming here. That is what worries me. And if Welker does go. No way they can cut lloyd

Unfortunately ct you can find the fans I am talking about all through this thread. There are plenty of good fans here who I respect but the idiot factor has expanded geometrically and they are in their full glory in the Welker threads. The guy plays like a Hall of Famer and gets trashed by the Madden idiots and fantasy football geeks who would much rather have Chad Jackson because he's bigger and faster.

I 100% guarantee that no fan on this forum has ever said that they would rather have Chad Jackson than Welker.

But the year they traded for Moss and Welker that had an abundance of draft picks to trade as usual. They have nothing this year compared to years past

Until I see another team step up and pony the money he is looking for, I am not that scared. Word is the market is soft for him. We will see in the upcoming days or weeks.

what's with the constant play-by-play of what he's thinking.......good players are moving from team to team and that's the end of that.....but welker? look at him look out that window.....he looks pissed.....he's thinking of maybe leaving....no wait, he's thinking of maybe staying....nope, he just has to take a dump......did he get his mail from the mailbox with his left hand? oh crap, that must mean he's talking to another team

stay.....go......stay.....go......DECIDE and be done with it!!!

unless, of course, he is thinking about leaving, but there have been no suitors to date......

Brady would be pissed that Wes is gone but not pissed at anyone. He would know that just like last time his front office will take care of him.

Branch leaves oh no problem here is Wes and Moss.

Moss Leaves no problem because you already have been handed Gronk and Hernandez and he still had Wes.

If Wes leaves I am %100 confident that the Patriots will bring in another talented receiver. He likely wont be the slot player Wes is as no one is but he will be good in his own right the Patriots will still be competing for titles. Plus he already has Gronk and Hernandez.

Name a position that BB has left bare for more than one year without making significant attempts to fill (not everything works out but he has always tried to fill holes).

.

And here I thought that I was a wicked Pats homer.
I defer.

Damn that Brady for not being perfectly accurate with a F'd up throwing shoulder!

If Brady has to be completely perfect before we can turn to blaming receivers we wouldn't need anyone besides UDFAs because we'd have the perfect QB just need a warm body to catch the ball right?

You are your pathetic excuses. Seriously.. I don't expect PERFECTION. But I certainly expect him to put the ball where his receiver can get it. Not throwing it behind a wide open receiver. Not throwing it in the dirt at a receiver's feet.

But, yeah, overlook everything else because you can't admit that Brady has as much responsibility for the SB loss and AFCCG Loss as Welker, Hernandez, Branch, et al.

Right. My point is posters defending Welker by deflecting blame to everyone else are out of their mind. Brady played his ass off in that Super Bowl with everyone around him dropping balls and we have a guy on here saying he deserves BLAME? What a joke.

What is a joke is you and your pathetic ramblings about everyone else BUT Brady..

I'm sure Belichick has a plan in place. Actually several plans in place.

I just wish he'd let me in on some of them because the Welker situation is making me nervous. The fact that we don't even have Edelman signed to argue about potential production makes me even more concerned.

I 100% guarantee that no fan on this forum has ever said that they would rather have Chad Jackson than Welker.

But but but but he's bigger and faster, given the opportunities he would have better numbers..............................
