good luck to him

competition sure wont be an issue

Can't believe he's 27 already.

What is the rule on the tender?

Is that guaranteed money? Would suck if it weren't and he was cut just like last year.

Franchise tenders are guaranteed upon signing. RFA tenders are not.

If they were, either the Patriots would not have given him a second-round tender, or they would have kept him for the season.

Strange that Hoyer is a 2nd rounder, yet, nobody is interested in Mallet for a 2nd rounder...

It's a tender and, because the NFLPA dropped the ball on tenders as well as so many other CBA items, none of the money is guaranteed. He got tendered last year, too, and then got cut. My sympathies to Mr. Hoyer. The poor bastard can't shop his wares in the fullness of the offseason, for the second year in a row.

Yep, for the second year in a row, Hoyer will be at risk of being cut during training camp, and because of his inexperience starting, teams are less likely to take a flyer on him. I believe it was Bedard or Reiss touched on how the CBA did players like Hoyer a total disservice since he wont be a UFA for 2 more years, meaning two more seasons with potentially being tagged, and then cut.

Poor situation for a seemingly decent QB who should get a fair shake in this system.
