Was it the offense or defense that cost this franchise two championships?

The pats need 2 or 3 big physical wide receivers..dumping welker for bowe would be a start. The ravens have jones, smith and boldin, the giants had manningham, cruz and nicks, the packers had jennings, jones and nelson...lthe patriots have welker and lloyd....it seems clear where the problem is.

Given the goal, that would be a bad start.

The only drop of note Wes has had was this year against the Ravens but it wasn't crucial.
Play in the SB last year was not a drop. A catchable ball on a terrible throw, yes, but it was not a drop. That was on Brady more than Welker.

Actually at the time it was crucial. And a throw that goes through the receivers mitts is never a terrible throw.

The more I watch, the more I realize that the experts, the coaches, say it best. Belichick says you have to make plays. It really doesn't matter where those plays are made or who makes them as long as they are made.

Think about the Patriots Super Bowls. Both the offense and defense made the plays when they needed to make them in the first SB.

In the second, a rash of injuries (Harrison and Wilson) in the secondary, made the defense look like a sieve, and low and behold, Brady airs it out and gives one of the greatest offensive performances of all time. The offense made the plays.

In the Giants' SB, they almost made enough plays to win, but the Tyree play and the Samuel missed INT and bad offense--Patriots didn't make the plays.

It really doesn't matter IMO where those faults lie, because we have examples of both causing losses, and we have examples of the offense leading the team to victory while the defense fails, and vice versa.

Try to get the best players you can and execute.

For the thousandth time, it was NOT a "drop." Slightly off-target ball by Brady to a wide open receiver, with no pressure on him to speak of. A ball an NFL receiver should make a play on more often than not.

No that you're edified, have a nice day and maybe go learn a thing or two about how football is played.

I swear the Welker hate/ignorance around is contagious.
I don't hate Welker, but if you get your hands on the ball, you have to catch it.
