Without WW they are a very good offense.

With WW they are trancedent.



I think we are good, but not VERY good without WW. He prevents the D from packing in the front 7 (why would you ever do that with TB under center, anyway?) by having to be covered by a CB but also the LB have to keep an eye on him coming across the middle. Very few inside, short route receivers get that kind of attention. That helps our running game and mid to deep passing game.
Teams with a solid corners (Jets, Seahawks) may not even provide safety help for guys like Gaffney or the WR2…but nobody is leaving WW in single coverage for more than an occasional play. (I think).

With Branch & Lloyd at WE, Gronk and AH at TE add a 4th or 5th WR like Stallworth, Edelman or Gaffney, that running game PLUS TB at QB, that offense is VERY good.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was limited in his return to practice Thursday from a hand injury, the team announced.

Edelman had not practiced for more than two weeks prior to Thursday. His status for Sunday's game in Seattle will be released following Friday's practice.

Meanwhile, quarterback Tom Brady (right shoulder) was removed from the injury report after being listed as limited in Wednesday's practice.
