how long before the denver fans boo Pay Me A Ton

even if it wasn't head to head (it was) he deliberately leads with and points his helmet upward into the upper "neck and head area" of the QB. I can't believe someone is even trying to argue that this is a clean hit.

Houston's defense is amazing. Denver hasn't had an open receiver all day.

You can easily dislodge the helmet with a hard hit to the chest.
Like I said, the clip posted here is unclear. If the contact was to the head it is illegal, if not, it is fine.

I was watching the game....there was no helmet to helmet contact, his shoulder pads lifted up into Schaubs helmet and dislodged it,if anything May's facemask might have been involved in the helmet flying off,but not the top or front of the helmet itself.

He clearly leads with the crown of his helmet.. he even puts his arms down. He's not attempting a form tackle here. There is shoulder to shoulder contact but it's at the same time as his helmet smashes into Shaub's lower facemask. His intentions look pretty clear to me.

Do you know where the crown of the helmet is?
There is no requirement to form tackle. The requirement is you cannot lead with the crown of your helmet (which he did not) because that is spearing and has been illegal for 100 years, and you cannot hit the QB in the head.
It looks from that clip like he hit him at the top of the shoulder pads.
Intentions do not matter.
And if his intention was to plant Schaub in the ground and knock him out of the game, that is perfectly legal, if he does it with the hardest legal hit he is capable of.
Somehow Goodell has turned this league into one where you are supposed to think you can't hit someone hard if they might get hurt, and that is absolutely not the case.

You really have to see it in slow motion to find out if it is illegal, because the rule depends 100% of where he was contacted.

Denver is an 8-8 team as I said earlier this year.

Manning may shock and retire by the end of this season.

This may be his worst statistical season since the late 90s

If he doesnt hit him above the shoulders it is legal. You cannot tell me that clip is clear.
If he TRIED to hit him in the head, but got the chest, it is still legal.

i love these replacement refs

first flag i've seen on champ bailey in a decade!

the hit the Raider WR took just now is one thing we dotn see often with teh PATS, Brady throws the ball either into the hands of the recvr. or away from everyone. Nowadays every QB seems to throw the ball into double triple coverage Praying that their WR grabs it , in the end the WR gets banged up pretty badly as just seen in the Raiders case. QBs like Brees ,Ben R, Eli throw dangerous throws which arent safe for their own receivers.

How do you get that he points his helmet upward?
As he approaches the QB he lowers his shoulder to make a hit. Of course his head lowers. What are you looking for a chest bump? 2 hand touch?

If you can, watch the low blow from Raiders LB Phillip Wheeler into the back of Big Ben's legs, that to me is more worthy of a fine than Mays hit,a flagrant chop block if I ever saw one.

yeah that's what happens when you draft 6'5 wrs

you chuck it and pray sometimes, and trust they can go up and get it

8-8 is very optimistic

We're so blessed in the UK - I'm currently watching Johnny Mitchell (yes, that one) giving tips on how to catch the ball.
