Pats "like" Hightower, McLellin, Harrison Smith (although not necessarily in the first, Chandler Jones and Isaiah Pead in later rounds.

I'd rather trade up for Mark Barron.

The same "source" said that they've "moved on" from barron. Still think if he's there at 11, it's a possibility.

I'd rather pick up an extra sixth or seventh round draft pick, from various trade downs, select Tony Dye from UCLA, and sign a slew of undrafted free agent safeties.

The 2013 NFL Draft class should provide talent at the safety position.

The same source last year was pretty accurate. He said we liked Julio Jones, Tyron Smith especially (I think he was our number 1 target and we tried to trade up). He called the Solder pick a few picks before.

He also said we liked Shane Vereen and nailed the Stevan Ridley pick out of nowhere so he definitely has some contacts.

It's a pity that Barron has risen out of our reach as he really would have been perfect. I still wouldn't mind packaging the picks to get him. I wouldn't mind getting Chandler Jones with a mini trade up too. Don't want any part of Smith until at the very least the middle of round 2.

Is this someone on twitter that the rest of us can follow or something that we can't ? If it's the latter please keep us updated.

My guy came through. Last week he said they were looking at Irvin, today he says..........

"D. HIGHTOWER, POE—DT , McClellen from Boise. They don’t think any of these guys will be there at their slot unless they make a move.
Others on the list C. Jones from Syracuse , Ingram but not real high on him
If draft falls apart they have no problem taking RG Jeff Allen."

In the past, the list I get is who impresses them (usually out of reach) and a guy or two who they target. JPP was on the wish list last year, Ridley was on the target list. Two years ago Spikes was considered a done deal. I have no clue who is their target guy in this year's list

He's a guy at Blinded by the lombardies (sonsofsamhorn). Got McCourty right and Ridley (heard specifically there were two RB's the Patriots liked last year).

Bump
Placed it on a silver platter for you all at 5:10PM

Does this mean Jeff Allen s the pick at 48?

Seems logical considering Light is gone, and Waters is either one and done... or done. Volmer was gimpy last year, so maybe BB needs another G/T type like Cannon. 48 seems high, but without any ammo to move around.....who knows. I would have thought that BB would go for another pure T, considering Volmer is entering his last year under contract.....but my guy said they like Adams.....we'll see. Wish he said they like Jenkins....but after reading about the leadership/character qualities of our 2 #1s, doubt BB does a 180 with the serial impregnator

Would be very interested to hear if there are any other defensive guys out there they'd like to snag day 2. It feels so unusual for BB to take front 7 guys by trading up in the 1st round twice, I'm curious to see if he could go for the trifecta and grab another DL or a CB where he sees a truckload of value.

The tips about another T seem pretty noteworthy though. BB has done "well" grabbing T's in the 2nd round (unless you're going to go all Klemm on me.)

A CB has to be in the mix. With McCourty as the swing guy ading S depth, I have to believe they target a corner to beef up CB depth.

Stacey Dales reporting from foxboro suggest to not be surprised if the Pats go WR with 48. A possibility is also O-line I'm assuming guard. If they go defense she says they may like Trumaine Johnson.

Lombardi elaborated saying BB will take what the board gives him so if a CB they really like falls they could move McCourty to FS and if a safety falls they could keep McCourty at his current position and just have him provide depth in sub I guess.

This guy did well yesterday (not me but the original source). Shalize Mansa young says they're looking DB/RB today so Isaiah Pead would give this guy a three-fer.

No, but there was a LOT of talk about Casey Hayward in the last week or so. If I was a betting man I'd say Casey Hayward @48 and Isaiah Pead @62 assuming no trades. They had three higher grade RB's in for a visit and Pead was one of them.
