I'm not sure we need a FA back unless you'd count BJGE as that guy. With him, Woodhead, Ridley, Vereen and maybe Faulk it looks pretty crowded already. IMO I don't think BJGE is going anywhere else. It would be nice to fill in some secondary holes before the draft.

Remember if one of our young RB's step up we will be saying Green-Ellis who? RB's make some of the quickest transitions to the NFL. If Ridley or Vereen wins the job they would validate their selections.

I'd rather carry an extra WR in todays NFL over a 5th back. We only used 3 RBs last season anyways. Vereen was inactive most of the season and Faulk provided nothing. I don't think Polite was utilized to much extent either after being signed.
I'd be happy with only carrying 4 RB and no FB. The question is who those 4 will be. I think Ridley is the #1 this season so whoever we bring in has to be willing to accept less money for a lesser role. I don't see us resigning Benny (unless the market for him really falls apart) or bringing in Bush/Stewart like others are begging for.
I'd like to see the Pats spend some draft picks on a tall, fast WR (but not in the unlucky 2nd and 3rd rounds) and power RB who won't fumble. A developmental OL would be nice but I don't know if he would even make the roster with the guys who are already there. That's really all the Pats need on offense, IMO.
Defense, on the other hand, is going to take some work...
