Because he's never done anything to indicate otherwise...?

And yes, I am grading him on a curve due to his quarterback.

44 receptions for 698 yards is better than some of Branch's years. But, yeah. You're right. He's never done anything to indicate otherwise.. And that has been as the #2 receiver behind Crabree...

Helps to know the player you're talking about Jack..

Wow at the Garcon number if thats accurate.

Redskins also reportedly going after Royal (Lombardi says they want 3 new WRs).... Maybe Gaffney will be cut!

Lloyd
Welker
Gaffney
Rookie/Branch/Johnson
Edelman
Slater

Works for me

If you think 700 yards from a WR2 is anything other than mediocre, that's fine. I'll maintain my position that he's not a very good player and, hence, we shouldn't really care if he signs elsewhere.

Don't know what he has left in the tank, but the Redskins also had Donte Stallworth on their roster last season. At least he could line up in the proper place and have some production in the offense, for very little money.

Man the Redskins are STUPID. Why would you throw a ton of money at two mediocre receivers? Dumbest idea ever.

And I guess they aren't getting that cap penalty after all? They sure aren't acting like they have cap issues anyway.

700 yards from a #2 WR who has Alex Smith throwing to him is actually pretty decent. Particularly when you think about the fact that the 49ers have been a RUNNING team for the past number of years, not a passing team.

BTW, Jack, by your standards, Welker wasn't a very good receiver either since he was Miami's #2 receiver while he was there.

Assuming Lloyd is good with the system (which he should be with McDaniels around), that gives you three guys you know "get it" (four if Branch is around), and two guys who provide depth and special teams versatility. Can't ask for much more without getting greedy.

Give me that group, and make the rookie either Hill or Adams, and I'll be thrilled with the WR corps heading into camp.

Yeah, I suppose if Morgan blows up like Welker you'll have a point. I guess we'll see.

Jason Cole thinks BJGE will be getting 3-4 mill, as multiple teams are in on the BJGE hunt along with the Patriots.

That seems high for a #2 RB or a guy to pair with. Maybe a team such as the Bengals sees him as a starter.

No.. we won't. You know why? Because neither Luck nor RG3 are half as good as Brady.. And it's the combination of Brady and Welker, toghether, that allowed Welker to "blow up".

Morgan probably would have been a 1000 yard receiver in the Pats offense because he runs good routes and has pretty decent hands.. But, we'll never know now.. Ciest La Vie..

He'd be an upgrade over Benson, that's for sure.

I'm torn on whether the Pats should pay much to keep BJGE. He doesn't fumble and he's got a nose for the goal line. But he's also not going to take over a game for you. Ridley looks good (assuming fumbles aren't an issue) but who else do the Pats have? We don't know much of anything about Vereen.

In the end I would probably let him go if we're talking $4 million per.

Jets are growing more pathetic and chasing WRs named Chaz Schilens.

Re: Garcon to skins...Vjax to...

glad the bucs got vjax and not an immediate rival

Have you watched Josh Morgan play? He's nothing special.

With Welker, when you saw him in Miami you knew that he was a good player, even though he wasn't blowing it up there due to terrible QB play. You can not say the same for Morgan. He's okay. He's serviceable. There are tons of guys out there just like him.

Why do people do this? BJGE is a #1 RB in the NFL. Not a #2 RB. Dinging him because of a turf toe injury is silly. The Pats have under-utilized BJGE regularly here and I have said since mid-season that it wouldn't surprise me if he moved on and became someone else's #1 RB and had success.. He's proven to be a damn good RB. Attempting to take away from him only shows poorly on you.

Yes. I have seen Morgan play. There aren't a ton of guys out there like Morgan. Wanna know why? Morgan actually works at it. He runs good routes and looks to improve. Does he drop some? Sure. So do Welker and Branch. And Morgan has never had a QB as good as Brady throwing him the ball.
